I wwould like to hear from conway drivers aabout the problems they have had or are having with their gates.... and what injuries t5hey hafve had

I've never been injured by a liftgate or anything else at work. Work smart and you won't get hurt. With the questions you've been asking here lately, looks like your looking for an easy buck and not have to work.

Well i can tell you those old "rail liftgates" are junk and dangerous! Specifically trailer # 665-2117......this trailer needs a can of gas and a match.....i havent seen it for a while but i think we gave it to NWR (winchester)......The worst part was the "rut" between the trailer and the gate, if you got your pallent jack wheels hung in there with a heave piece of freight your gonna catch hell. also, the damn switch on the inside would'nt work half the time to make the gate go up and down, also the sides of the trailer were completely rotted out......i could keep going on but you get the point!

I'm sorry Mr. beer but I'm not looking for an injury or a fast dollar I'm looking for info on problms with liftgates We outsource our mechanics and I feel they aren't being repaired properly....an no my fingers weeen't injured..... but thanks for yo0ur feedback I will file it under stupid reply if you have followed any of my post you mighy see a concerned long term employee so go sip on your beer and I'll talk to you when you sober up have a good night

tthank u for your honest answer I am just wondering if it was my term. or maybe others... We outsource our repairs and I'm sure they do the best job they can......24 yr. service

I"ve worked the new liftgates like Maxon brand and the old style rail types. Both have had issues with batteries not charging and switches failing, etc, I chalk it up to normal wear and tear that cannot be readily found in a pretrip inspection. I keep my fingers and toes out of places they don't belong and have yet to be injured. Do what you can do, write things up when they don't work and protect yourself, anything else after that is pretty much not in your control.

I remember a delivery to a roofing place. 3000pd pallets, 6 of them. Use to have to pump it up till a board broke on the pallet so I could roll it to the tail. Weird pallets, not standard.
I remember the 800 pound salad bar to Panera that was a 7 foot crate on a pup and not a liftgate like it was supposed to be.
I remember lugging a 75 rubber mat a block and a half to a residential and a DSR trying to help me but being forced not to by a dispatcher. Should of just tore down a few wires instead.
I rembemer the 10am appointment freight being in the nose and the local stuff in front of that and 6 Skds of drums on the tail for a 12 o clock appt.
I remember this one DSR who never ran one skd behind another. He always left a few feet of cushion space. I hated him when I stopped short. Lol I could go on and on.
I always got my liftgate stops off and bought lunch with the tips I made.
Good stuff....
Oh one more. I remember delivering a whole living room set, couch love seat etc... Just me! Up a flight of stairs into the house because it was a inside delivery. Made 60 bucks on that one.
Ever get cornered at a residential by a milf? It happened to me a least three times! That's metro for ya!

Pay no attention to beer, he's got his head stuck in the kool-aid cooler.

I don't drink either, actually.

Actually u can easily get hurt on the old rail gates. We had 3 guys recieve shoulder injuries trying to push it shut cause conway was to cheap to fix it

It's the company's fault? Most often it's the guy pulling the trailer that won't write it up and follow up with the supervisor to make sure it's entered into the computer. Once again back to the old definition of insanity... doing something the same but expecting a different outcome. So after the first guy hurts a shoulder why wasn't it addressed at the local level? The grease gun does not have to be ordered from Ann Arbor, they do have them locally available.
