3 in one year means you get suspended for a few days and put on probation I believe for 6 months or a year. If anything happens while on probation you get canned. This is assuming they were minor accidents. If any are major accidents you are probably finished. I believe you are allowed one major accident every 3 years. But like everything else here, it is totally up to your regional safety director what your future employment status will be

This is not true...totally depends on the severity of the accidents and your past record. If they are minor, such as forgetting to disconnect air lines or such and you are pretty clean you will be fine. You will get three days off work and safety will review your case and decide your fate.

Depends on who you are. I dropped a empty trailer on a secondary street and did no damage received a chargeable and 3 yrs probation on my first offense. I also was suspended for a week. Other drivers have done the same and not lost any work time and only got a chargeable accident. Our beloved safety department is a complete joke.

We have a city driver in my barn who's had 6 accidents in one year. He's still employed. Luckily, they don't let him damage my tractor anymore....we road driver's affectionately call him "Captain Crunch". Imagine that.

They make you the new safety manager.
All depends on the safety guy in your region, and his or her mood at the time. There is no rhyme or reason. One guy gets charged for an incident, the other guy doesn't for the same deal. The only thing that is consistent is his inconsistency But our guy is a short little man who loves his position of power.
Now explain this one to me. We had a road driver rearend a car. He got a ticket for whatever ( I don't know what ticket was for). The company finds the accident his fault we all agree. Now all thats left is the ticket to take care of. The driver pleads guilty to whatever the ticket is pays the fine. He turns the paperwork for the judgement the company then fires him. The companies stated the ticket was another issue separate from the accident. Now how is it separate when he got the ticket as a result of the accident. Had there been no accident he wouldn't have gotten the ticket so they cant be separate.
Our fella doesnt remember what you said five minutes after you leave. He almost gave me a chargeable when I had to bring in damaged trailers from the Target DC. They pocked holes in the roof, tore the doors half of the track, pocked holes into the doors all over. They tried to blame it us saying we brought them in that way. Fred the safety guy looked at it with the shop people after I brought it back. I was then called in his office along with my ops mgr to explain how I tore up these two trailers. He even had his die-cast model there for me to play with. By the our safety guy cant drive worth a damn.
