FedEx Freight | Any 411 on WPB?

Saw a couple postings for Road Drivers and was wondering if they had enough work to keep someone busy?

It's a dice-roll here.
They either need guys to cover for vacations this time of year or they picked up an account.
Once summer ends or they lose the account due to damages/poor service/being undercut...you'll be sitting by the phone.
No layoffs...they'll starve you until you can't take it anymore and quit so they don't pay unemployment benefits.
Or they'll re-align operations a week later and tell you to move to bum-fuk idaho if you want to keep your job.
I wouldn't leave a decent gig to come here...there's too much risk.
If you got nothing, it might be OK.
Too many dummies/low-lives running this operation.

First time posting here to truckingboards. I work city here in WPB. Over the last three weeks had two linehaul drivers let go. Both 14+ year guys.

What were you getting? 4mpg?
Making it at fedex is pure luck!! You can be the hardest worker there is but, it doesn't much matter. You either get lucky or you don't. I know guys who started at just the right time and have never seen the dock or a city truck, and others that have struggled for years to even make a consistent pay check.

379 with 550 cat 18 speed TAKE A GOOD GUESS WHAT MY MPG WHERE? AND CUSTOM CRITICAL HAD NO WORK FOR SINGLE BUT ALWAYS WANTED ME TO PUT TEAM IN MY TRUCK!:1sm364jumpbed:

I figured a single wouldn't do too well there, surprised they even signed on a single actually

As far as mpg, I looked on fuel gauges at 379's and they were anywhere between 3mpg to upper 7's. Pretty much the same story with all trucks..SPEED. So, I couldn't hazard a guess what you were getting

must be a culpepper thing ?

one got upset that a city driver didn't unloaded his pallet jack at the end of his day. so he took the jack, and put it in a cardboard dunnage rack. the other bent the folks of a pallet jack, and did't report it. cm went to the video to find out who did what. they were the number 1 and 2 linehaul drivers.
