XPO | Senior Drivers demoted to Dockworkers? Is this going on company wide?

This sounds like a terminal issue....i know our 5 and 6 oclock starters are utilized on the street.....

Many people equate the union and lazy.
I think you have opposites on both sides of the fence. Hard workers and lazies in da union and vice versa. It all depends on one's personal work ethic. A union doesn't make you lazy, you do.

At least some of the union talk keep mangement in check a little bit IMO. Will never happen here. All talk and no walk.

You didn't answer the second half of his question. If a CEO needs a contract, as do mid-level management, why not us? Why is it ok for them to break it off in us any old time they want?
Maybe he is saying that if management needs contracts , then they are lazy.

Quote of the day, "You bid a start time, not a route." Gives them enough wiggle room to really screw with the ones they don't like!

FYI
On the bid sheet in a union barn you may bid the start time but it also says... And other duty's as assigned at the end..............Lazy ? Who are you to JUDGE ?

When bids were put in for 2013, nobody was told of this new system. Drivers with seniority put in for early start times (5AM) are now full time dockworkers getting 8 hours and told to go home. Flex guys called in for 6AM and lower seniority drivers with later start times driving and getting OT? Is this a new company policy or just here?

Geez! Who needs a union?

Or run a profitable business, depending on your perspective.

I don't disagree with you. However, when it is used to screw with a certain few guys for no apparent reason, and with no explanation, it makes you think that it was designed to allow management to treat people like garbage when they feel like it. I'm not even one of the guys getting screwed, but I see it happening. If they don't like what somebody is doing, they should man up and tell them, not just hide behind the start time bid statement. It's another way for them to play favorites with some of the guys. And yes, I do want to work for a profitable company.
