Hearing of our pay raise, which I appreciate, I have to wonder what the thought of others are about AE starting new hires, not transferees, at the topped out pay rate (city/combo)? Few can come in and do the same job as the 25-30+year guys, and what message does it send to those who have 20 or 30+years when a new guy/lady can come in off the street at the same pay rate. I've watched new hires come in, same pay rate, go home after 8 hours, not get the tough routes such as liftgate routes, not get sent to the less desirable areas after dark, not get the physically demanding work, they get the easy routes while a 20 plus year guy gets the crappy stuff, even AFTER being here a while. It kinda goes back to what's easiest for the dispatcher to get the job done, the one who complains the least wins. What if the newby is a lady, does that change things?
