Yesterdays bill count system wide was 11,960, the worst day since the holidays. We are starting to see the erosion of business due to the change in service and pricing on ND-SD-NE-KS-AR-TX-OK. Those state went to being non direct, "interline" points are not protected on the customers contracted pricing. Goal per day is around 13,900 bills so we were almost 2,000 bills below goal. Keep in mind that even if we consistently did 13,900 bills we would still be far from being in the black. Last March we averaged around 15,660 bills.

you did not take into the figures the snow storm, Mo to Ks, to Chicago to Ind are having freight problems. we only ran 1/3 our normal P&D today i heard,,,,,, just not much coming on linehauls due to storms

And with Vitran, service will suck for a week, while others will suffer for a day or two. And then, we will lose even more business to our competitors. Look here boys, even you all are making excuses for why business is dropping off our trucks.

Well, you have to admit, we did shut down a lot due to the snow. A lot of carriers did. I think thats why the business was so low. I hear a bunch of new freight is coming on in March. We'll see. I sure hope so

Lets hope for the best....I think we ran off some business so we can get a better handle on things and concentrate on the profitable ones when things pick up. I think there will be an on-slaught of sales-reps hitting the streets trying to sell the "New Vitran Express"....They will target the accounts we have lost and get perhaps some back...I think this slow time is needed so they can fine tune the machine....They are re-tooling like GM......Customers have a way of forgetting as time goes on....Many companies make rebounds after tough times...Look at Firestone after all those lawsuits from the rollovers years ago..Look at the Toyota Camry problems...Perhaps not a good comparison....But you get my point....Let's just hope when and if we get some accounts back we can take care of business...Like I have said it's sink or swim time....We are treading water but we haven't went under yet....We are getting tired and hopefully CK will throw us a life line....because if he doesn't we will all most certainly drown.

And there is some customers I hope they are smart enough NOT to bring back. i still think OS&D is our number 1 downfall, unless it is always next day, the world will not fall apart if you are 3 days instead of usual 2 sometimes, but damage it, now you really done it. think we got it bad, how about that tool wholesaler you just delivered that damaged skid to, now shipper stays with us because that was 1 in a 100 damage, but the wholesale's salesman now has to explain it will be another week for the building contractor's new nailer, so now customer goes across town and buys it off the shelf from a competitor,,,,,, OS&D is a no win situation for everyone.

I hear that. JUST this week on tablet I was sent to pickup, only to see another driver waiting to pick up THE SAME FREIGHT PICKUP. YOU would think with the hight tech stuff that would not happen. There isn't a enable function to stop sending two drivers to same pickup? Just a couple examples of money wasted.!!!!! WEEKEND TIME TO GET WASTED!!!!!!:couch:

we will gain new business. the ones we lost have gone to other ltls, they will put their worst accts on backburner, those accts will look for another carrier and that's where we come in.

I hear that! A Vitran driver can go in for pickup.95% of the time you,:: Find the oddest shape or weirdest looking freight it will be the freight to pickup.

been there done that, shipper calls corporate, csr has mainframe send it to you based on your route # for that day, then receiver calls terminal and asks you to pick this up for them, but they know you don't have room so they assign it to someone else. another problem is accurate times, places i know go to 7 are listed as 3, or some i get in no hurry says 5 but they actually close at 3

1. Firestone was purchased for almost nothing by Bridgestone and would have gone bancrupt without them.
2. Toyota is known as the best auto manufacturer in the world, is Vitran known as the best LTL carrier. No, quite the opposite. Plus everyone knows
accidents were all BS and caused by the drivers themselves.
3. GM was able to re-tool only after the government bailed them out, there will be no bail out after the 50 million dollars is gone.
4. As for new and invigorated sales reps resecuring lost accounts, keep in mind that sales reps have lost and resecured these accounts many times over. Hence the term "vitran fatigue". You can fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on you.

and that freight had already been picked up by yet another driver, who dispatch claims did not let him know it was picked up.
