XPO | Lancaster County PA Rt23 Conway Freight Headon Collision

Yowza! Incredible that someone could survive that. Good for the dummy that crossed over and for the Con-way driver that doesn't have a death to cope with.

I can guarantee it was not deemed a preventable accident...damn.

steel hauler by your name im guessing you dont work for conway, and by your opinion of the accident i can almost positively identify you as not being a conway employee with smith system training.our management eats breathes and sh%$s the smith system.hope thhe driver is ok and hope that after the accident he remembered the 3 points of contact while exiting the tractor.

Name was made well before I entered the LTL industry...sorry. While I do not work for Con-way I work for one of your competitors. I was involved in an accident where a car hydroplained into my lane right in front of me. It was deemed non preventable even though the ***** tried to lie. The minivan crossed the center line...LOL. No company in the god damn world is going to ding you with a preventable for that.

While working for another LTL carrier. I was making a left hand turn into our driveway on a busy two lane road. While waiting for a break in traffic a van rear ended me and demolished the van. The driver was totally plastered and did not have a scratch on him .The safety dept. put me through the ringer trying to pin it on me. They wanted to know if I was looking behind me while waiting. Nope I was looking ahead. They wanted to know if I had my 4 ways on. Nope just my left hand signal as I was making a turn. They reluctantly did not charge me. I think they might have been a little pissed off. They don’t like it when a lowly driver wins.

To give the devil his due, we had an incident almost exactly like this a month ago. SUV lost control and swerved into our truck in the other lane, he tried to avoid, but on a narrow 2-lane road with no shoulder there was nowhere to run baby, nowhere to hide. Ruled non-preventable, no one was hurt and the driver is back to work. Sometimes safety department does its job and uses common sense.
