ABF | big day tomorrow

Sounds like your content with where you work. That's a step in the right direction. Sure makes for an easier day.

It pays the bills. There are quite a few things I would like to see change, and if things go the way I am hoping I will be driving for the bullfrog before long. If if doesn't work out, I will stay put. There are worse things in life than working for Con-way.

I'm not really sure what rollin refers to about people having wrecks and losing lives, that certainly doesn't happen at my yard, but maybe he could enlighten us. Truth enough?
Last time I looked, we have our own roll over thread, and not to mention a w and r lady killed on the San Antonio dock by a crate. Bottom line, you can go through these Conway threads and see what I'm referring to system wide. Try googling Conway freight accidents and tour computer will overload. They push us to hard and these are the results. Dumb rules--- walk outside the painted crosswalk, walk 10 ft away from an idling forklift, run over a dock bumper on a lift are grounds for discipline. Are u serious?

I'll tell all the truth that's really necessary. It's a decent place to work, definitely not the best but far from the worst. Pay could be more, and the health insurance really isn't all that expensive. I pay for myself and 3 dependents somewhere around $20 a week. It's a high deductible program, but half d my deductible is covered by a fund that's Con-way's money, not mine. If you're healthy you probably won't ever exhaust the fund, and another positive is that whatever you don't use is carried over to the next year on too of the next year's fund. It's a far cry from free bit it's not too bad. The pay structure is convoluted and just became more so, but as all of you know they expect quite a bit from us. 20 a week i heard its alot more then that like 180 a week ??????????????

The plan he's talkin about has such a high yearly deductible, your actually just giving Conway 20 bucks a week for free.

Yeah the deductible is high but if you read on, half that deductible is paid by con-way. If you're healthy, you won't pay anything in healthcare costs other than the weekly premium. And if you don't exhaust the fund, it rolls over to the next year. If you have a lot of health problems, that an isn't for you.

local 710

At the 710 union meeting the UPS guys were told to get ready to start paying for some of thier heath insurance soon. SO how long do you think it will be before ABF and the mighty YRC has thier hand out for more of your take home pay ? Hav a nice day.

Your diluted on what's really going on over here at Conway. Were all screamin for help. Drivers are having wrecks and losing lives because of this place

Damm, what's goin' on at Con Way ?
Y'all got to excuse rollin62, he hasn't seen his therapist this week. We're really embarrassed to have him as a representative for our company. Its really irresponsible of him to go around saying that Conway is killing people. I hope nobody believes that hogwash. Thank you.

If the boys in brown have/had any balls they would pay nothing for their healthcare. Like that company needs any relief.

You have no right to complain. The Teamsters helped a guy get elected and pushed thru a healthcare bill (Obamacare) that eas predicted to drive up premiums.

I would really like to see you guys get what we get, fully paid health care, the way it should be. I don't know who opened the gate on copaying for our health insurance but they should be shot.
