XPO | Bomb threats?!?!

An Illinois man has been charged with posting a bomb threat on Facebook, pretending to target an Ann Arbor trucking facility on April 15 — the same day as the Boston Marathon bombing.

According to a criminal complaint unsealed today in U.S. District Court in Detroit, following the Boston explosions that killed three people, an employee at Con-Way Freight in Ann Arbor received two e-mail notifications from Facebook indicating that the Con-Way Facebook page had received some messages. The first one came at 6:16 p.m. from the vanity name Maggie Ladenn and read: “HEHEHEHEHEHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOOK CARE OF THE BOSTON MARTHONAND NOW I TAKE CARE OF CONWAY IN MICHIGAN AND LASALLE.”

A second e-mail from the same person came in at 7:53 p.m., stating: “ere a bomb at one of your facilities, have fun finding it.”

The employee contacted the FBI Detroit office, which investigated the Facebook posting and traced it to Rodney Termini of Oglesby, Ill., who is a contract employee at a Con-Way facility in LaSalle, Ill.

According to the complaint, Con-Way, an international freight and transportation company, has 11 facilities in Michigan and one in LaSalle, Ill., as well as corporate offices in Ann Arbor.

On April 16, FBI agents in Chicago executed a search warrant at Termini’s home in Oblesby, IL. Termini, the complaint said, was interviewed during the search and voluntarily provided a statement. He fessed up that he created a Facebook account and posted a threatening statement regarding the Boston Marathon bombing and a bomb at a Con-Way facility, the complaint said.

Termini was charged with interstate communications of threats to injure.

A criminal history check on Termini revealed a 1998 federal conviction for mailing threatening communications.
