I don't work for ABF, but I have been a teamster for many years and been through a few contracts and a couple of strikes going all the way back to the 80's. I have to say, I wouldn't give up anything ! If you have it now, the company can afford it, keep it. Don't let the Teamsters do to ABF, what it did to Yellow. I don't want to pee on your parade but, Teamster jobs USED to be the best jobs in the industry, with above average pay, good benefits, decent work rules and, a good pension plan, and you had respect from other drivers, management and, the community. Now, you are not the top of the heap anymore, as a matter of fact most non-union companies pay more than the union carriers, although they need to to balance out the fact that you pay into your 401 and copay your benefits. ABF has been the solid ground the Teamster leadership has been softening up for a long time. ABF management has been saying they were going out since the early 90's and they're still around. Don't be fooled and keep your nuts where they belong, to you. I'm just say'n
