FedEx Freight | Raise

The first raise will be the cost of health insurance. The second will be our hourly pay which as usual will be just enough to pay for the higher insurance effectively negating an actual raise.

I dont even get excited about it anymore after the barely half a penny a mile last year that some got and then others get a repectable increase so like I said dont even get your hopes up then you cant be disapointed.

Last year they told us about the raise Friday June 1st. It started Monday June 4th. They were pretty hush hush until then. We are making money but it seems slow???

I agree. It seems slow compared to last year at this time.

In my opinion we still have one of the highest mileage pay rates and hourly paid rates and it is near the top as far as LTL carriers go. I know a couple other LTL's pay about $1 more per hour but they don't get time and a half after 8 hours.

They might not get time and a half, but they get more hours. In the lower wage area we are nowhere near the top ,and in my area people don't get much OT anyways. You would think in my area since they keep OT in check they could afford to pay us $24.50 an hour. That's our competitor average in my area, and we make $22.65.

Don't be surprised if you don't have insurance. Cheaper for them to pay the fine for each employee then the actual employee. Then the socialist in office can then fine YOU for not having insurance. Collectible thru your income tax return, VIA the IRS....hmmm aren't I just a ray of sunshine today...thank you Obamanites.:regretful:

You are correct I would not be surprised...in fact I wouldn't be surprised if they made a good chunk of drivers part time. I'm only 4-6 hours a week away from that anyway on average.

Driver you just be glad they let you run there old worn out iron around town to pick up there freight!! You should feel a sensation when you put your purple pajamas on!!! Those drivers at the competitors dont get those benefits whatsoever!!!

I should be grateful that they provide me with purple pajamas!

I doubt the raise will not even come close to what we will have to pay in higher insurance premiums sad to say .

Yeah, RAISE your forks before exiting the trailer. Lower your expectations of a future here. A raise in your health insurance will no doubt deminish any value of your future RAISE.
