ABF | Less Pay & Less Time off & the ability to be fired without corroboration

This is the organized labor movement today ?? I vote NO !! It isn't rough enough to know that the top people in the company will continue to receive their raises while the avg rank & file would be giving up $7,000 in the next year but you also have to give up a weeks vacation that you have worked 10,20,30 years to get to not to mention that now a dispatcher can fire you without corroborating evidence that you were stealing time......less pay & less time off & less security....We need to send them back to the table they work for us ...We were told this was all about ABF being able to compete with our competitors on a even MONETARY Playing field how does giving up vacation time & job security accomplish this??? WE MUST VOTE NO & SEND THEM BACK TO THE TABLE

I was trying to look at it with an open mind but damn I'm gonna have to vote no. Back to the table this is sorry.
 
Section 3. Audio, Video and Computer Tracking Devices
The Employer may use video, still photos derived from video, electronic tracking devices and/or audio evidence to discipline an employee without corroboration by observers if the employee engages in conduct such as dishonesty, theft of time or property, vandalism, or physical violence for which an employee could be discharged without a warning letter. If the information on the video, still photos, electronic tracking devices and/or audio recording is to be utilized for any purpose in support of a disciplinary or discharge action, the Employer must provide the Local Union, prior to the hearing, an opportunity to review the evidence used by the Employer.
 
this is a slap in the face. total BS and a no vote here. Does ABF want my dignity also ? less pay, less vacation, 5 cents cola cap, and after its all said and done we end up with a %1.5 pay increase after giving up over 20 grand over the life of the contract. I get two weeks vacation, losing one week is heartbreaking here.

My wife's face fell when I told her I would lose half my vacation. They take most of my family time during the week now.
We just got to where we could afford to go on vacation once in a while. Now with the various things that pop up during the year its going to be 6 years before we can take one again.

I'm not an ABF employee, but it really aggravates me as a Teamster to see this garbage. The pay and vacation concessions are one thing, but this clause on termination through electronic devices is a disgrace! The union has no balls anymore.

Some of us here at Ups Freight have your back. ..I will NOT cross any picket line or pick up any struck goods! Do NOT vote this trash in!
 
I cant get past the loss of 1 weeks vacation time across the board. Your first 8 years will earn you 1 week off per year. All the other stuff is irrelevant due to the time they are taking away from me and my family. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
 
How many times do we call dispatch and wait for them to answer?? So we wait at the customers or drive around the corner to be out of the way, article 26 section 3 the company can fire a driver without corroboration for stealing time, every driver better log all calls that take more than a couple of minutes, vote no! on this article alone

This is the worst Tentative agreement I have ever seen!!!! They must really think we are stupid...... I will vote NO as long as it takes till they get it right
 
What are you guys so scared of a camera for? They are everywhere. How did they catch the marathon bombers? Why so paranoid?....How many of you tote a cell phone.....Big Brother is eavesdropping all the time.....Don't steal, call in when your delayed, etc...IF, you are fired, it will still have to go to committee......supervisors will be monitored too! It's tit for tat....Just do your job and all they will have is a video of a professional showing how to GIT R DONE!

I love that this is what is best.
How about the clowns who are selling us this crap ( our elected union reps) take a pay cut
Start with the 15% they gave YRC and give up a weeks vacation
And then take another 7% and give up another week of vacation.
Sad part is they would still probably have been t better than us.
Vote no brothers.
 
I don't understand why they pay 100K+ to our TM to just sit in a corner office and do nothing but call his boss to make any decision, if they want to save money they need to streamline their management staff of people like this. I think then they could save money and be more competitive in the market. I disagree with this proposal and I don't think we should accept it, they need to go back to the table also, do we now have to take a retroactive pay cut?

Take a close look at page 2 PRESERVATION of HEALTH and WELFARE and PENSION In the paragraph including this sentence: Instead, we were able to keep ABF in all the current benefit funds and secure a contribution level of up to $1.00 annually that should maintain existing benefits throughout the term of the contract for most ABF Teamsters. Brothers, I’m not looking for should in a contract… I’m looking for the words that guarantee existing benefits throughout the term of the contract and correct the term most to ALL ABF Teamsters. The language most is too exclusive in a contract. I could pick it apart but what I've read is UNexceptable

Most are stupid. Many of the Teamsters voted for Obama, which is why we are here today.

I too think the Teamsters should go back to the table. Except this time make the Teamsters that voted for Obama get a 15% pay cut, and they must pay 100% of the insurance premiums, lose all pension contributions for 5 years and give up all vacations as punishment for voting for that Marxist.

And the rest of us smart Teamsters who didn't vote for him get a raise and nothing changes for us.

I get 2 weeks also, and losing one of them does really suck. I was doing some basic math and based on a 40 hr week at 52 weeks per year @ the rate of pay being 24.43 an hour I would be out $ 7893 for the length of the contract. Granted the more you work the more you would be losing based on the percentage of the year. Counting the vacation as lost revenue (since you are working it now) is tricky and would be like the accounting trick they will use to see us never under the 96% operating ratio. God forbid we shall get a bonus.
Leaning towards a NO vote on this but I don't know if our esteemed leadership is capable of getting us anything better.
