ABF | Are You Ready? Set Go!!!!!

Looks like UPS Master will pass with many supplements failing. A bit early on the UPS Freight count but congratulations on the early counts. Now, will they actually ask you why you voted it down? Or will they just go and through more sheet at the wall and see if it sticks?
The UPS Master cannot go into effect until ALL supplements are implemented..so they will have to go to the table on ALL of it, as any changes to the supplements will effect the UPS Master and ALL of it will have to be voted on again...
It ain't all about the money...KK

This is too funny. Here is an esteemed union brother and you guys see fit to verbally abuse and disparage another human being simply because cerebral capacity is lacking to the point of no legitimate brainwave activity? Doesn't know how to spell and hasn't got a clue what condition he is going to find his good job, if by any chance this wish list gets ratified. Well, I for one can't say I blame ya.! What a mope.

mrabf, just exactly how much of that Kool-Aide did they force you to drink? Did you READ and UNDERSTAND the proposal YOURSELF? Do you understand that with the "shared sacrifice" language, your pension payments could stop the day of ratification ??? Do you think these management people are stupid? They have managed to out smart the IBT yet again. All those managers that had the pension contributions stopped recently will be the contractual justification to stop contributions to the Teamster funds. Do you understand your terminal is under attack with a COO that could very likely get you laid off. Do you understand the Purchased Transportation will put alot road drivers on lay off. Of course the company will tell you that they aren't planning PT around road drivers, but then, when could you ever believe a word they say. There are holes in this language that you could drive several sets of triples through, and you're giving me a flippen ultimatum to vote yes or quit? Go Find Yourself.

Ummmm if they listened or had any commons sense that T/A would never have been hammered out.

Very true and even worse most of them kept telling us over and over how wonderful this deal is for us. I'm hoping by the end of today or tomorrow they are going to know we have brains and balls.

So...when this two bit offer is rejected you're leaving. Please provide domicile as I have a friend or two who may be interested in relocating to fill that void. To hear you talk they'll need two to fill your shoes. :hysterical:

BTW by the looks of this poll it doesn't look too good for your side.

I have a couple of friends who would like a good union job. But only if this T/A is voted down, otherwise I think they will stay at their bad non-union job because it pays better and they get more time off. What with the 5 day work week and 3 weeks of vacation.

My money says it's all on hold but only the rejected supplements get revoted...but I have been wrong before.

All you DRIVERS that voted no the contract get ready to put in your resignations paper.
Remember you want work for nothing less than what you are working for.
Will not take a wage concession and get contractual raise every year.
Want accept one week of vacation being took from you.
Don't want your insurance and pension paid for.
Don't want keep your seniority in the company willing to start over some where else.
Please put them in after the votes are counted .
Looks like there may be a lot job openings at ABF.

Hey Mr. Slagle, why don't you call Hoffa on your red phone and invite him to join you at dinner with one of your lobbyists and work towards getting OT paid to all truck drivers who work over 40 and not just factory workers. After all the non-union trucking companies are about the only ones in the country who don't have to pay it and it would be very beneficial to both you and Hoffa to get the laws changed on it.

There have been alot of junior members popping up like daisies lately. Wonder if they will still be around after the vote ?

I suspect that that will depend on how the vote goes and I am anticipating a 'no' on this offer. IF it passes most of those new names and old names with few posts will not be hanging around and probably quite a few of the others will stand on the sidelines unless and until another big issue emerges. Should it fail I expect they'll be here cracking their whip telling us how we'd better take this next deal or get ready to drive to our nearest YRC terminal.

Want to wish all my ABF brothers and sisters well. Personally I hope you vote it down. Once they get the 7% it's only a matter of time before they come begging for the other 8.

I had heard a few years back Con Way was not to bad of a place to work. Things must of changed some a bit.
it has changed since, eliminated pension, no ot till after 50 in the south. Insurance freakin high dollar. Fire u for this, fire u for that. Ruled and runned by intimidation. These used to be good jobs, but not anymore. I'm still waiting on my background check at abf. Why the hell is it taking so long? It's ridiculous

The classic YRCF reply is??? "Be glad you have a job."
