Help me understand the loss of money of one week vacation .
People are trying to subtract the amount of vacation money from their yearly salary.
When we will be working that week getting a pay check .
The amount may go up or down depending on how we work.
Unless we take time off with out pay that the only way we would lose money ,thats when we could start subtracting from our yearly salary.
Sounds like we are losing time and looks like we are losing time
NOT MONEY !!!!!!!!!!!

Linehaul guys usually don't get much sleep. Sometimes you have to repeat yourself a few times before it sinks in.

Please dude, you couldn't possibly be that dense. TIME IS MONEY. Unions have secured these benefits years ago. People were killed, beaten and maimed, fighting for these benefits. Now it is okay for the company to take it away? Shame on Hoffa, Johnson and Sweeton for bringing this garbage to the membership.

What if you sold your vacation back to the company last year? Did you still loose $$$money because you did not work it but got paid anyway? Or how about every other LTL company giving their employees one week vacation with 1 year seniority and you get none? Or you work 2 years to get your one week vacation and your neighbor, who has been at his job the same length of time, gets 2 weeks? Given theses scenarios did you still loose $$$money? From where I am sitting the answer is yes. Did you work all these years, doing your best to keep a good driving record and work history, to get less than your neighbor? What do you tell your kids; sorry daddy works for a union company so we can’t take a vacation this year?

I work at YRC on my vacations, now do you get it?

Five days pay sitting home spending quality time with your family. Call it free money. How much time due you get with your family now just the weekends.

America works way to many hours. Then should be talking about starting employee's out with 4 weeks of vacation time. Just other way of work more, get payed less.

I was stationed in Europe for several years when I was young and I sometimes wonder if I liked it because I am old and my memory is remembering the “good old days.” Or if it is because Europeans spend more time enjoying life and less time working? And with ABF wanting to take, take, take, I think it is more the “good old days.”

While I do agree that the loss of vacation time is unacceptable, you might want to ask those europeans how that vacation policy is working out for them now.

The good ole days are still here. Just quit Ur abf job and Obama will take care of u. U need a phone? 1 dollar. Healthcare, housing , groceries.... U can't beat it.

Don't worry about subcontracting .......... unless you work out of atlanta, they use 6 percent of the total national loads and they can cover all the fla. Loads.. . ...twice as much going in as coming out
