Well! 52% of us have let the company
Know how easy it is to run a SIIMPLE scam in order to Get its way.

Ya set a hell of a precident with this vote
That won't be turned around in the future.
They can fire us now without a fact witness. We gave up our own DUE PROCESS.
What a bunch of slaves!
5 yrs from now you'll get a similar scam
And again 5 yrs later. etc.
Shame on every gullible sucker who voted to reach into our mouths and pull
Our food out of it for no reason.

I have no respect for those who did this. you're not my brothers.
You are "wound encrustations" who pay union dues.

Abf's union is spineless.
I'm withdrawing.

I live in a right to work state, and was wondering what the drawback to withdrawing would be. Any help us appreciated. I do not want to support a union that sells out it's members because it has no spine.

I might get called a sca# by a few coworkers.

And if ya get fired for something, the
BA won't fight as hard for you as he would for a "yes" man.

Those are about the only affects ,though.

On the flip side, if I see a "yes man" broke down in freezing cold, ill just keep on going whereas previously, I woulda
Warmed him up while he waited.

I figure, this is what they want, this is what they'll get.

But how do we identify the yes man? I know many said they were opposed but I guarantee they are closet yes voters.

Several have told me earlier things like; they "intend to Protect their jobs" ,
"the company has To make money",
"It'll be awful if yrc buys us and shuts us down".
"a weeks vacation aint worth losing my job".
And the most obvious one I've heard
" The BA says to give it to em and try again in 18"

Those are the slaves. The ones who say things similar to the above.

Damn shame too. Those are real nice guys that I know.
But, they did **** on my head so they'll push their gears all alone now.
If they ever need a witness, I won't be there.

I got it...."Don't Blame Me, I Voted No!"....buttons and shirts!?...Good way to make up some of that 7%.....KK

Your smarta$$ might break down in the freezing cold, but I would stop for you, whether you pay Union dues or not...get over yourself! If they fire you, it still has to go to committee, might want to reconsider paying those dues.

You may find your car keyed up a bit with the occasional flat tire. Just sayin

No, guys,....I've said it before and I'll say it again......we can not let this dissolve into an internal hate-fest. If we do,....then the company picks up an added benefit. The guys who were scared into voting yes were "scared" by the best.....this strategy was concocted by the members.....not just one company,.....but by the members of the ATA...Management is organized for a common goal......let's not degenerate into a disorganized mob. For my part,...other than having a little hissy fit on another post about how....slooowly...I would work.....I've decided my dignity and work ethic won't allow me to sink to juvenile behavior. If ABF upper management has to resort to subterfuge to terrorize employees into voting for a sub-standard contract,...then it really shows how desperate they are to limit wages for working people just to maximize profits for the shareholders. This should gradually become evident to even the most timid "yes" voter in about 6 months.......and it should stir up a lot of self-righteous anger.....to be tricked by your employer into taking food out of your families mouth..allows for a lot of self-righteous anger....a towering amount. I think I'm right when I say that YRC doesn't dare try to have another vote....on anything right up until April 2015,....because after being lied to 3 times,.....and the truth became evident eventually....pretty much all of the YRC guys would vote to close the company, burn the equipment, and bulldoze the terminals....because most of them are convinced they were lied to...and when your employer pulls a stunt like that..........the old German term..."Gotterdammerung"........that's the kind of revenge those guys would take on YRC... ABF's flirting with the same thing....you lie to your employees at your own peril.......

The UNION is US........not the spineless, clueless, multi-pension, multi-salary, human slugs who are temporarily......and at our leisure, by dint of our vote....in charge. We should all have had a "wake up" call as far as the trustworthyness of our ....."leadership"...... goes. The best way to defeat them is to calmly and intelligently work for their dismissal by getting them voted out of office. Shakespeare......I think he drove for McLean....said "Revenge is a dish best served cold." So let's all calmly and coldly turn our collective intellect into educating our Brothers and Sisters in other industries covered by Teamster contracts on how our current...."leaders"....destroyed the premier jewel of the contracts, turned their backs on freight, lackadaisically and haphazardly....."represented" us in negotiations......and work to have them thrown out of office under a cloud of disdain. That would hurt them more than all the "keyed" cars and 5th wheel grease on door handles we would impose on each other. Make this our "battle cry" : R.I.P. NMFA....1963 to 2013 Killed by the son of the man who created you.

Its members like you is what's killing the unions.

best I remember the union is made up by members.... I would say the "Union" has 48% of its spine. I predict that before the year is up they will be asking for another 5% wage cut back' NEED TO FIX 52% OF THE SPINE BEFORE LONG! good luck:Emoticon_digging:

Well said, thank you. Like the man says here......If we allow this to consume us in ways that divide us the company wins again. If we allow the $hitbags that were supposed to be OUR representatives in this matter to divide us, they win, because they'll not have to answer to anyone that has a gripe, because we will be busy bullying ourselves. Time to grab a breath, take into consideration the fact that we were brothers and sisters before this, and should remain brothers and sisters now. Let's put our heads together and figure out how we are going to survive this thing KNOWING DAMN WELL WE HAVEN'T GOT AN ELECTED OFFICIAL WITH ONE OUNCE OF TESTOSTERONE.

I am sure the jag bags that allegedly "fought for us" in the negotiations never realized the full ramifications of a TA like the scraps that were put before us. How and the F are we supposed to organize any group of workers on this planet when the so called leaders show so very little strength. Not one of these ash holes ever call a steward, member or anyone that works in the rank and file here to find out what the truth is. They reserved that for the lame "economist" that they hired to help screw us. And that's exactly what they did. So the company carries part of the burden here, and our esteemed leadership (alleged leadership) carries the rest. Hmmm, looks like a RACKET to me, RICO. (wire fraud, mail fraud, SEC insider trading) Oh my, did I say that out loud? Sorry.

You are more optimistic than I am. We are in the minority within the Teamsters Union, a mere 35% of UPS Small Package workers even voted on their contract and we can't expect that many to vote to remove our current leadership. What we need is our own union once again, one that represents the freight industry like it used to be. One who's only goal is to work for us and provide us with the best they can offer. Unfortunately I don't see that happening either.

Teamsters In Question !!

Wanted to retire from ABF - Owner operators/Shinny wheels, give backs. Hell NO, I gave my two weeks notice!! What have you people done with the trust that has been entrusted to you from the last generation? To be passed on to the younger generation and future generations, you have **** all over the trust!! Last freight company paying into the pension full. Well boys live with what you've done. Sleep in the bed you made!! SEE YA !

Brother I may not be too far behind ya going out the door. working more for less. got health care through the wife same coverage with Blu/crosss. never going to see a pension here no matter how much they tell me I will. writing is on the wall with the pension, My fund is broke, BA told me better have a 401k going. well I do.two 401"s for that matter. ABF was a good company to work for, and I enjoy driving.but like all good things , it comes to an end. looking to find another job, probably in another field, less pay of course, but more time with the family, and being able to actually plan something with the family for a change

That is the best decision you can make. Working a job you don't like is bad for your health. Doctors say family trouble & a job you don't like are the two worst things on mental & physical health. This is the best pay/benefits/retirement in the trucking industry so going to another trucking company would be worse. I wonder at times why I stayed in the trucking industry. I would recommend for a young man to find something more family friendly.
