The Contract cannot be implemented on 7/1/13 as planned due to having to renegotiate AND re-vote those supplements that were voted down.....MEANWHILE, if you have unused vacation weeks that you were holding back on, I WOULD TAKE THEM NOW and not make the same mistake that many at YRC did who had several weeks in the hole and when they used them later, they were cut 15%, even though it was earned BEFORE the Concession votes.

Oh, and get your self a dash cam for your truck, as you will need a witness to back you up in case of an accident and/or if they claim you were stealing time with THEIR cameras....good luck to all, you are going to need it even more now.....KK

That 52% doesn't realize that yet.

Yeah....I guess you are right. They were reading the contract and got interrupted with that little YRC thingy and forgot where they left off reading it?

Oh, well.....I give it 3 months after it gets implemented and you won't find a yes vote in the house.....just say'n....KK

that is exactly what happened at holland, no body voted yes then they all realized the impact of the give back
And that was all they talked about and still do, it will be the same here at the big green and yellow.

i listened to the conf. call and contract carriers, temp. workers , cameras were not mentioned.
lets read between the lines ---
stated in the call :
if you are on the senority list , you will stay there.,,, doesn't mean you'll work, but you are on the list.
,,,, doesn't mean your job won't go to a far away term. in a change.
6% contract carries........... most companies that use company trucks and owner ops. put the higher paying freight on the company trucks and the lesser paying on owner ops. look at the amount of loads a.b.f. ships nationally ,
take 6% of that and put it to work in atlanta........... no more fla. runs, probably twice as much going in as comes out.

I'm just sayin'. what do I know !

Sounds like you have a real good grasp of what's going to happen with the contractor usage. I've been seeing it up close for the last 5 years. It sucks. But you know what sucks even more? It's in the contract now, good luck ever getting rid of it. I wish all you ABF employees well. Welcome to the dark side, UPSF style!

And five long years to live with it.

And I think most of the Purchase Transport (shiny wheels) will come to Atlanta. I see our bids going down due to the cut in the way we figure the bid count. And then next bid the count declining even further because shiny wheels will be hauling all our work. We in Atlanta were told during the last change of operations that we were going to be the extra board drivers for the company. I see it coming! And coming quickly. The road drivers are going to have no life outside the company. If you are an ABF road driver in Atl you will become a company person.
