And to address your other comment "Quit if you feel so strongly about it" I can only say this to you junior. The reason I stay is because I "DO" feel so strongly about it and if you knew anything at all about being a Teamster you would recognize the fact that this is by far the most inferior contract that the Teamsters have ever been subjected to. I've negotiated numerous contracts on behalf of my local so I can make this statement from experience not ignorance like you. What you say and feel here actually means very little to everyone except you. Next time come back with something of substance so I can debate you on it and shove the facts in your face. Stop in by South Chicago and ask for "Red Spotter" and I'll introduce you to some of my "CO-WORKERS" that you think voted for this POS and then I'll watch you pee pee down your leg like a new puppy. Excellent post. You sure parked his a** where it belonged. But your statement 'watch you pee down your leg like a new puppy' is priceless. But hey, the shoe most assuredly fits him, doesn't it?
 
Turn over one local at a time. Start small and branch out. You don't have to cut the snakes head off, just snip off a piece of his tail and see how he takes off after that. I do remember not so very long ago my local union was "Bad Ass". Now not so much. They've all taken the old approach of "Be glad you got a job kid." It's one big single file line at the hall. One guy is kissing the ass of the guy in front of him hoping to get to the top where he can make $463,002 like ours did in 2012. How is it that ANY TEAMSTER OFFICIAL can become a millionaire? This is what disgusts me most. If at least they were doing a good job for us it might be different but they sit on their thrones and dictate policy that affects all of our lives to the extent that we now have to make cuts in our lives but they never miss a beat or a paycheck. Docker.....I'm coming home. This place isn't what I thought it might be.

I'm with you, just not optimistic about it.
 
I think a lot of people feel the same way but won't speak out out of fear of retribution from the ibt we all know the locals are just puppets on the end of their strings its one thing to fear retribution from the company's but we shouldn't have to fear our own int our only hope for our future is to get the bean counters out and put rank and file members in those positions people that have worked the docks ,yards,and or drove the trucks cause they won't forget where they came from and again this is my opinion if we all stick togather we can rebuild our once great union
