:order:It is now time for upper managment to put our money where their mouth is! Now is the time to turn this pig around and get back to moving some freight.Even though most of us on TB are sickend by the results of the vote we will still do our jobs the best we can. All I ask is that you ( upper managment) dont turn what used to be a great company into another YRC!
 
I hope Woodennose is right. I hate this contract but maybe management will make the best moves and turn ABF into an even bigger corporation. Even though $2.2 billion is substantial, ABF has some of the best employees in the industry and should now be able to take market share from Old Dominion and Con-Way. No excuses. This is what they wanted, we lost, so lets make the best of it and grow ABF!!!
 
The BS beatings better stop now because we've had training in spotting labor law violations and how to file.charges now.....of course no thanks to the.IBT.
 
They have already started. I am friends with a traffic manager at one of our customers, and he said for the last year our salesman had been pushing Freight Value, and Global Logistics down his throat, never trying to gain his ltl business. Two days after it was announced we had a TA, he was in his office begging for information on ltl freight, promising to get him new pricing, and jumping through hoops to gain back what we had been hauling a year before.
Ask your manager what Freight Value and Global logistic is all about. This is how abf kept customers served the past year while only getting a cut of the revenue. Less money on the books at contact time, but now it is all about ltl. Now when things get busy, they put more money in their pocket, and can hire new folks at a discounted price.

We have been sold out.

GOOD LUCK......I predict there will be alot of crying how they need more before the.end of the year and ask for an emergency reopening of the contract.and we'll be voting on another 8% pay concession.

You're absolutely right, ABF.people are the most dedicated, loyal, and hard working people I've ever worked with. What is management going to do when all these old hands get tired of being beaten out of their time off for family, pay and endure the daily slap in the face with the breaks cut by 5 mins. I have seen daily guys and girls here give more than their.breaks with no regard from management. ABF new deal means they own us now and you'll havd time for nothing else. Anything.But Family.

I bope this substandard, total giveback, gives Turncoat, Giveback Gordy and.Jimbo the rush of excitement when every nonunion worker we try to organize looks at this POS and tells them that their 9 year old could negotiate better conditions.

The ball is now in management's court. I think most ABF employees will continue to do what has made this company what it is. Regardless of how one voted we cannot try to drag the company down with feuds.
 
Well the die has been cast. Now we will see what the real deal is in action.Those who believed one way or the other will be proven right or wrong in time.We all need to go back to work move freight as best we can and keep our eyes open. To those who held strong thank you. To those who believed the sales pitch,dont get fooled again.
 
Time is on our side. It will become evident in the next 6 months how we've been lied to. It's a shame that ABF management had to use a terrorization tactic to confuse and scare employees,....they would've done much better by manning up and telling us the truth instead of making fairy tales about the threat of us being bought by our nemesis and dragged down to their level..........So they scared some guys......enough guys, apparently,....and we dragged ourselves half way down.....6 months from now, they'll want the other 8%, but CDL-qualified drivers will be at such a premium that they'll be forced to get real creative with another fairy tale to scare the gullible with. It's a shame that lies and obfustication are now the new corporate negotiating tactic,.....and it's a dirty, rotten shame that our so-called leaders are either too lazy,....too incompetent,......or worst of all,....too complicit...to care about the people they're paid to protect from rapacious management. The IBT is now the laughing-stock of organized Labor. One look at this Agreement,...and how this negotiating campaign was conducted,......and it will convince anyone that you've got to have a large hole in your head to organize with these current yobboes we have as so-called leaders. But then,..I guess our highly-compensated yobboes don't get out and down on the street much.......if they did, their feelings might get hurt by how little they are regarded by the non-Union employees, management, and the general public........and this clown-show of a contract negotiation isn't going to help their reputations much. R.I.P. NMFA 1963 to 2013. Done in by the son of the man that created you...........

Living to do the daily grind now one more week and 7% less. I believe ABF won enough concession for 5 years. They might provide T-shirts and hats for all abf team employee's .

To hell with the color. I am more worried about the horse power on that propeller. The blades on my x-mark are turning around 19,000 rpm's. If your running more than 2 AA's for power you need to tighten up that chin strap. Depending on the State you are in at the moment you might be arrested for wearing a dangerous weapon. Don't forget to install the red flashing light. The DOT in conjunction with the FAA requires that a light be installed on any object taller than 60 inches. Your potential arrest & incarceration will leave a large void in the Union Leadership @ your barn. Please consider other types of head gear before proceeding. We need all the true Brothers we can find in this outfit. Be safe out there. von

If you think Upper Management is going to try to turn ABF around to a profitable business again you got another thing coming, I just heard from our TM at 140 that ABF is going to start a logistics company now from the ground up, not Panther. This company is going to handle all freight from beginning to end and we will never move any of it so, good job peeps. To the ones that voted YES on this contract - you just paid for all the video cameras that ABF is going to put in your terminals to use to fire you.

It is a sad day to be a union member
