I am very disappointed in the ABF teamsters. This contract should have never been passed. We all know the union ain't what it used to be, and a big reason for that is nobody has any balls anymore.

You have shown the company you are willing to bend over. You have also showed them that their scare tactics work and that they shouldn't have any problem getting another 8% giveback or whatever they may want in 2018.

So to all the yes voters, congratulations on helping nail the coffin shut on the good American teamster jobs...And to all of the no voters, I wish you the best of luck.

After several hours of sulking, it is over, no one from another company has any right to comment, nor do I about their contract being ratified or not. It is over, we are all 1 company, we are all Teamsters, Teamsters that are supposed to be United, a Brotherhood, that has been forgotten! We all need to make money, I hope the Company gains and proves me wrong, I voted No! I am better than them in heart.. I prevail over greed and haste. I wish all fellow Teamsters well, all Fellow ABF people success and safe travels, we will be fine...

I wish the best to both yes & no voters. It's time to put this behind us & stop the bickering.

So far it appears there has been little gloating. And not much pouting either. Except from some none ABF employees. Now it's time to demonstrate why ABF Teamsters are still among the best compensated employees in the industry. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL.

It is what it is, nothing we can do about it now. We voted, this isn't the result of it. No use crying about it.

well take it from me, ( 15% cut ), it only hurts the first few checks..........NOT ,
maybe they sill still give you a pay summary every week showing your pay amount prior to the cut, like they do for us. the real true #'s are in fine print on the stub. it's like payroll taxes, don't look close and you sill not notice how much Uncle Sam gets each week.
one more thing, I get it if they convinced you that a pay cut was needed, pretty strong pressure, But how do you vote yes for someone else to do YOUR JOB ? that'a no brainer, would you call someone else to take care of your woman......whatever

buncha fing scbs

I have walked picket lines on many strikes & not all of them were freight strikes. I collected money for the Overnight strikers & some local construction material strikes. I also helped collect for the Greyhound/Trailways drivers during their attempt for a contract. I have never crossed a picket line & never will. Tyson Johnson, Gordon Sweeten & other negotiators negotiated for two extra months on this contract. They saw the company financial records & did what they thought was best for this great union. I have never gotten all that I wanted in a contract but I have always been able to live with it. At some point you have to trust someone & stop throwing stones. It will be difficult to organize others if we cannot work together. I hope the supplements can be worked out to the benefit of the rank & file. When that is worked out it will then be time for the International to do some organizing. This contract is so much better than what the non union workers have & they need to see some unity among Teamsters & maybe when they see unity & the benefits we have they will sign some cards. Our survival depends on new membership.

The I.B.T. sold us out to protect the health and welfare what do we need the union for all these drivers that have been hired in the last couple voted for this. Most that voted for this don't know what they have done i just hope that they are the one's that get fired with no recourse

Agree agree

Stony,
And NO it ain't over I hope like hell my supplemental was one that was voted down!
There's still six supplementals that have to be worked out.

He's calling the yes voters scbs. They crossed no picket line, they voted for what they felt was best. To call em scbs just wrong and ignorant. Its like when a black calls another black an Uncle Tom because they don't think and vote the way they think they think and vote.

T play devils advocate. Isn't it important to protect the health and welfare? Isn't a a 7% pay cut and weeks vacation a small price to pay?

Sounds good in theory but when the reality sets in and the results are seen in action I doubt that the bickering will ever stop. I try to remain positive but I am just too skeptical about this deal. And I have lost faith in our leadership and cannot and will not just trust them. Look at what happened with the attempt at a 15% concession. I would be embarrassed and ashamed of myself if I had spearheaded that charge for the IBT. A union contract with no-NO vacation for over two years? Then only one (1) week for eight years? This is sickening. And I'm not even one of those who is in that boat. I am ashamed of the deal myself but there is nothing I can do about it at this point.

Well said .357. As a retired Teamster w/40yrs service, YOUR ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, this Union is not what it used to be. Members have no backbone now!!!!!!

The union isn't what it used to be. 40,30 or even 20 yrs. ago the majority of LTL carriers were organized. Today we have YRC & ABF. 30 years ago nobody moved freight if we went out on strike. Today a strike would only make Conway, FedEx, ODFL etc. richer & would put the company out of business that was on strike. The only way to get back to where we once were is to organize.

And the only way to organize is to show you that have something to offer. UPS Freight shows that nothing has been offered and a 52% ratification is right behind that.
