Should FedEx Freight Unionize?

I'm just curious how many people out there would want to unionize FedEX Freight. I have never worked for a union and don't know much about them or what the benefits would be if any so my Opinion is neutral.:6837:

Going union isn't going to change anything they're doing right now. If you go to any union forum on T boards, you will find they have pretty much the same complaints we have. UPSF pays a bit more than we do, but they are using purchase transportation while they have drivers sitting at home just like we are. we don't pay union dues, but we pay for Insurance. they pay union dues, but do not pay for Insurance yet? The other union companies pension situation is up in the air right now? Are they going to get a pension, maybe, maybe not? Im not anti union, I just don't see where they will help us here?

What is this Union that you write about? I have not heard this before? I feel so confused, have we ever discussed this on the Boards before?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to rally up a union. I am neutral on this subject. I have just heard a lot of employees out there from multiple centers complaining about the company and talking union. So I started this poll to see if there is a real possibility FedEx Freight could unionize in the near future.

Back in the day the unions were strong and companies were at their mercy. Now companies are the strong one and we are at their mercy.I beleive soon it will be are turn again, hopefully soon. What goes around always come back around.

No your not or your wouldn't have bothered to post this. At least have the nuts to stand behind your convictions.

Switzerland never publishes a poll on whether another country should been attacked. They are neutral. You have an opinion one way or another or you wouldn't have taken the time to type this up. Don't waffle now.

Looks as if the poll is almost a tie on here anyhow, yeah pro union ahead. but I think when the rubber hits the road it would be a true no vote wait and see i guess who will sign the first card (and will that be you)I guess we need to see if that happens in any of the barns.

Not every yes vote is a vote from a known FDX employee here...

Yes I actually am neutral on this because I'm not real sure if I would want a union or not. I see good things with the union and I see bad things. 1 thing I don't like about unions is they are big supporters of the democratic party. 1 thing I like is they offer job security for unnecessary termination and honor company senioritis. So I don't know how I feel about it yet. I'm just going to be like obama 4 now and vote present.

I agree, I have never heard so much talk about he union before. I just hope it stays talk.

For the amount of money these idiots spend to keep the union out, you'd think they would leave us alone and let us drive. Keep F'ing with us and see what happens. For the life of me, I can't figure out why the Teamsters weren't all over FedEx days after the merge. It just show how irreverent they really are.

If I new how to give +rep from my phone you'd have it.

Goes to show the teamsters aren't really organized. Instead they are trying to organize a bunch of o/o at ground. There have been many times they could've had us but choose not to strike while the fire was hot. Either way they have to start at the hubs. The end of line centers will just get ran around. And it can't be spotty they have to hit a majority of the hubs at once. Also no to the NMFA and only in-house pension like UPS. Not going to pay for people to retire that never worked here. Social security is for that. But I think they could get a successful vote right now.
I'm anti union except for the trades but I don't like the way were being treated and only see it getting worse.

Agreed 100% Hillbilly. Well put. Keep retirement out of it, but they could clear up some "hazy" rules around here. They do whatever they want whenever they want. I d love to see them try their B.S. with reps coming in every five minutes and grievances up the wazooo.....
