Yellow | questions about hiring process at YRC Freight.

Kc does background chk, once complete its forwarded to terminal u r applying for & if they r in hiring mode once he calls u in for interview , he'll tell u whn to report ( so yes background complete) hope this helps

But don't think for one minute that once your records are viewed and hired on.That the company doesn't keep researching your history.I talked to a guy once that got hired over a year ago at that time. he was walking to his car and he told me.That they had let him go because of some minor felony that the company failed to pick up at the time of his hire. he had worked here for almost a year before the company caught it.That was then now is now.So I really don't know how they scrutinize the applicant now

things haven't changed too much .still seems like the minute they do hire you they cant wait to find a reason to fire you .

Yea I keep hearing that so it has to be true. I also heard from one guy it took him 8 mos. Before a opening came available. I hope that doesnt happen to me but who knows, the TM was prolly lying from the get go. Never heard of a part time driver till I applied here...lol. didnt knoe it was a such thing..lol

take a look at the seniority list also to get an idea how long it'll be before they put someone on fulltime. Protect your seniority date (hire date) when you get it, but definitely keep track of the amount of days you work. There is a reason for that......

I don't think theres an orientation TM says he'll just show me around ..lol. I talked to the union rep and he says 1 guy just retired last week and I have a 95% chance of getting a full time position.

Where are you clocking in at BossCity?Shreveport? You said you're hired.Does that mean you're going to be regular or they call you when they need you as a casual?

Shreveport 510. I believe its casual because its part time.
There is a difference between casual and part time. Part time would be less than 8 hour day. FT casual should be guaranteed 8 hrs once called for work. Now that would be under the extinct work rules of the once great NMFA. Those living under that YRC NMFA may know differently.
