If you heard an fos or another driver who is filling in for an fos use the terminology calling a driver a "body"...and periodically i have heard the fos's in milwaukee use that describing drivers... Would that upset you? And every time i have heard it i called then out for using that word. I think it's disrespectful. Any opinions?

In the military its the same thing..You are nothing more than a warm body with a gun..Need a working party, yell let me get x amount of bodies. I guess I am conditioned to it..But you cant blame em, we are nothing more than warm bodies in the seat so I guess I couldnt take it too personal.

I know what you're saying but we stopped being professional drivers in their eyes a long time ago. my scm once told me there was no difference between a 34 yr experienced driver and a driver who just came out of school. you both do the same job. I stopped believing anything he said and haven't spoken to him in 2plus yrs. his indifference made me lose all respect for all mgmt and do just enough to get by. I will never go above or beyond again. my motto now for sups & all mgmt is simple not my problem

We are just bar-codes that make them Money when we stop doing that they strip you of your bar-code and return you to a normal world again !!

Except this isn't the military. You should take it personal because you are A PERSON. When these scumbag managers learn that WE are professional drivers and not just drivers they will change their tune. Is that going to happen real soon ? No, but I am working on that. Us drivers have to stick together for all to live decent.

They also think that the oldest truck in the fleet is just as good as the newest one.

I am surprised that the non-common sensed, greater and holier than thou management was even that nice. I doubt they had a camera on him.

Get over it, who cares what these people think of us, as long as the checks don't bounce, they blow nothing but smoke up our rears and think were too stupid to know the difference, some are!:moon2:

Who cares what a clipboard driver says? You can go to monkey island at the zoo and find a suitable replacement "supervisor"

I called him out on it. He was insulted by it. Then i proceeded to tell him i expected him to act a little more human and decent especially how he leads his `Christian life style ' away from work. I guess he is a hypocrite

You have been elevated from a number to a body

Heard that "term" from TM's at YRC many times. It seemed to come up a lot when there were change of ops coming, and people scrambling to decide which terminal to bid to, and would hear TM say they did not care where anyone went since they were just bodies to them.

At our barn that term was always used because they can't seem to manage so they just throw more bodies at it to get it done.it seems to be there mindset .just like when you need or want a day off they panic because they are losing a body even if its dead slow.sometimes I think they got to much on their plate to do so.really I think we just need to slow down a bit.you know awhile back Doug S. said we are getting back to the basics well I just don't see it.Im not complaining its just what I see.been here a long time and i don't have too long to go and I will be glad when its done.as far as being called a body, that really don't bother me because for the first couple a years I worked here we was called a lot worse . I'm sorry about my typing I just can't get the hang of it.
