Can someone tell me the hourly rate for a city driver at YRC? Starting rate, top rate and how long it takes to get there? The job is in the Philly, South Jersey, Delaware area if it matters.

They usually pay pretty good, but also you will lose union dues each time you get paid. I dont know what to say about pay except talk to one of their city drivers too get the facts straight or close to that. another question to ask is will i be on the dock or driving in the city. I work for FedEx Freight and my first year I was a City driver, and most of my city work was on the dock.. Good luck.

If you are going to reply to someone dont give them false info. Dues come out once a month
..currently they are approx 2.5 times your hourly rate about 60 a month.

Dues are monthly not weekly. One thing you will NOT lose is insurance premiums as there are no insurance deductions. Unlike Fredex where they pay for their cut rate insurance.

Top rate in Philly area is about $25.50/hr minus 15% for their give back. Think it's 85% start rate and not sure about casual rate and how they'll play you on that. And that 85% of $25.50 will be minus 15% of that figure. Then they don't pay your pension for a while either, not sure for how long though.

.After union approved give back full wage is in the 20.00 to 21.00 $ range. No copay for benefits. First year is wage is 75%,union dues is usually 2 1/2 hourly wage per month. Contract has been extended until 2015 with .40 or .45 cents raise each april 1st until new contract is accepted. (yrc)

Thanks for info, appreciate it. baba, are you saying a new hire would start at 85%, and be at top rate after 2 years?
But there are different rates for casual workers and they have the ability to jerk you around as a casual for about three months.

The 4th year is at 100% of the current wage. Google Teamsters master freight agreement, go to article 36,page 153. That is the current contract extended until april,2015.

Well as though who ask I say the following as if we are hiring is as followed $24.88-$3.73=$21.15 P/H
Then there is 85% rate which is 3 yrs to top rate as followed $21.12-.15%=$17.98 P/H
Finally 75% rate is as followed$18.66-2.80(.15%) =$15.86 when u make list! Hope this helps in the long run?

Flounder....don't become a lost soul. Show a little respect by not posting on other company boards, unless you're really careful about your facts. It's a simple thing to respect each others turf. And to all the YRC folks, hope all is well in your world.

ST, FxF driver...

If u have previously worked for a union co. it jumps quicker 85% ,+,think its 1 yr to top scale ( can't remember) 70% start rate 3 yrs to scale otherwise ,union dues r monthly, benefits r paid by co, not u(casual pay is usually scale to convince u to stay) then once hired dropped to lower amount( road hourly scale is 24.35, city usually 5-10 cents higher, a lot of time hourly scale varies some by region( hope this helps( even while u r in the gradual scale increase u get the pay increase each apr 1 per contract

Don't try to figure this dump out.if it's written in stone, the company will interpret their way which will differ from the written way,and then no one will have the balls to tell them the correct way. You get my point? Just try to get the IBT freight division to return your phone calls and you'll see what I mean.

Look into the Philly Supplement and you'll get a better idea to what your pay and work rules are. Best bet is to talk to your steward about it and what articles you really need to know. Not telling you what to do but a word of advice brother......When management sees or knows you know the contract good they usually leave you alone cause you know the language. If not you play into their hands with their rules, when they do that its time to yell out "theres Bull**** in the cow pasture":bananag:
