what gets me is the hypocrisy. We have a guy in my barn who's die hard pro union. Ran into him at the Walmart Supercenter over the weekend. Why wasn't he shopping at a union grocery store? Because a bottle of listerene at Safeway costs $8. The same thing in the store brand at Walmart is $3.29. Pointed out to him he's a hypocrite. He turned crimson. So for all those pro union folks, either convince congress to re-regulate trucking, which will guarantee companies can pay top dollar and turn a profit, or convince the shippers to pay 30-40% more than they currently do to move their freight. Same end result. The problem we've all been living with is the intense competition created by de-regulation.

Until more companies fall by the wayside, thus reducing industry capacity, it's more of the same. If enough companies do go belly up, pricing will solidify when shippers are forced to pay more because the cheap haulers have gone away.
