We did P&D starting time bids 3 weeks ago. In order to cut back OT for the longer runs, they were made into 4-10 bids. The day after the bid, those on 4-10's were told that we would have to work on our off day & it was not optional. We can not decline to come in on our day off. So, basically the only thing that change is that we now only make OT after 10hrs, yet are still working 5 days for the last 3 weeks. We get paid regular time for working our days off....working 5 days a week but for 4 of those days, we don't get OT @ 8 hrs, but at 10hr.
Seems like the CCM has just decides to cut OT, by screwing us out of 2 hrs a day, while continuing to work us 5 days a week.
Anyone know know if there is any company policy on this?

I thought it was the norm for the company to expect employees to go out of their way to benefit the company, while they have yet to do anything beneficial for us in YEARS.:nutkick:

Overtime after 40! 5th day is overtime period! that's how it works at our barn. Over 8 or 10 on 4/10 bids and over 40!

Normally, if you are on 5-8, you get OT daily.....work 9 hrs, you get paid 1 hr OT
If you work 9 hrs, each day & are off the 5th day, you still get paid the 4 hrs OT.
In other words, as it stands now, if a driver on 5-8 works 36 hrs in 4 days he is paid 4 hrs OT
if a 4-10 driver works the same scheduled, they get no OT

correct. but if you work 10 hour shifts for 4 days on a 4/10 bid everything on the 5th day is OT. The whole point of 4/10s is to screw you out of the OT

are you hitting 40 hours in your 4 days?

It's hit & miss. The bigger point is that I bid 4-10 because I prefer the time off. I took Monday off, but when I come in Friday evening, I have a posted starting time for Monday, without even being asked. In the past, we had the option to not work. I've used the days off to schedule Dr. visits & other things. I am just wondering if there is a company policy. It's pretty easy to go to the FedEx site & find what the company rules are that benefit them, but the one's on bid structure seem to have disappeared.

Was on a 4 10 bid for quite some time and off on Wednesday and never got close to 10 hrs a day....ended most weeks with 36 hrs.

I am on a 4 10hr. shift (Thurs off) for the last 2 yrs. I go in on most of my Thurs. off during the Summer only. I have 10 or 11
extra days worked as of Aug.9th. So Fridays pay is all overtime, plus a few during the week. 51.7 hrs. this week, 53 hrs. last week and so on. I am not forced to work my day off on Thur. I let dispatch know the day before that I am available the next day (Thurs) if needed. I also tell them I will call between 6:30 & 7:00am for a start time at 8:am. I only missed 1 day since June, because it was a slow Thurs. and was told not to come in.

Maybe you need to remind them that you are a 10hr. man. Usually if you are a productive, safe, driver, they will work you. Or might consider a different day off like a Mon-Thurs or a Fri if you can bid those days off.
