Do any of you know what the pay is for a shuttle driver in the Memphis area? Is Memphis union? I have an interview with them this week. I just hope the pay will be enough so I can afford to take the job. The hours and home time would be great.

IDK showoff, the shuttle guys in OK and AR are by the hour, both are non union, they do ok, in OK they are around 19.00 hr top pay, would you be running to Little Rock or to MEM out of a shuttle yard?

Edit...in OK if you have current experience you are said to go to top pay, my buddy hired on at 15 something an hour, I couldn't believe they started him that low, but he didn't have current shuttle experience, thats what they want to pay a new hire here, no takers yet. My friend loved the job and loved USF, but he had a full time business and they thought that a liability, and they were right to think that, but they also want him back, USF is a good company, if you can come to terms with pay, I doubt you will go wrong with them.

Wow 15 an hr. Union starts at 19.53hr and 20.53hr for resident when i was there a year ago. They are on a new contract now. That must of been non union shop plus I guess non unions you can go straight into a shuttle without a bid I guess unless its a resident area then you can get hired right into a shuttle. Usually it's seniority base for bidding into a shuttle. My yard senior guys take shuttles like 15+ yrs guys unless its a low hours shuttle. But shuttle is cake walk there.

US foods here in mn start at 18.50 and top out over 23 a hr. How much do you need to make to afford to take the job? I guarantee it will pay more then McDonalds

If its in your living means take the job. If its union your guarantee 40hrs a week even if you work 1 hr. Yes it will likely triple McDonald's pay. Run the pay by 40hrs cause that likely what you will work weekly. If its enough money take it cause shuttle is a cake walk.

Triple mcdonalds pay. Wow the guys in nc that run mcdonalds start at 80k a yr, most more than that. Gsf it all comes off with electric pallet jack. Well in nc anyways.

I currently make about double what US Foods shuttle will pay for 40 hrs. Was told it would be 50 hours per week. That is still quite a drop in pay. About a$500 cut in pay and a 56 mile drive to work.US Foods only pays 19.58 hourly on top pay. Looks like I'll stay on the road awhile longer. If it paid $23 a hr and got 50 hrs I could do that..I was surprised the pay was that low here.

Must be non union or something with the new contract to get everyone on pay by performance . Which PBP screws shuttle drivers into hourly cause they make less on PBP. When I start 1.5 yrs ago it was 19.10 start 24-25hr top out. They rather you be PBP then hourly.

I'm hourly on shuttle and I kill it! However, they are making threats to bring us down to 40 hrs, how they will do that I don't know, if one shuttle driver goes on vaca the world starts to cave in far as routing is concerned! I told them to get after it, I would love to work a 40 hr week at 21.35 an hour. 19 an hour ain't chump change, the USF drivers in Tulsa are getting 55 to 60 hours, same as us.

I'm not going to hold my breath about a shorter week and more time with the ones I care about, they can blow and go all they want, business is good, and with our reputation...we can only hire the desperate. LOL.
