FedEx Freight | Thinking about transfering

Anybody know anything about the raleigh center in nc? Thinking about transfering down that way. Any opinions good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks u all.
 
Check with drivers from that svc cntr. If road driver check run miles..dont get surprised by shorter runs than used to. If city driver..remember fedex does not guarantee full time hours to any employee. This t ime of year things slow down..take t hat into consideration prior to move. Check out your seniority b4 move. Sucks to be at bottom of both job class and company seniority..especially when layoffs and change of operations occur
 
Well being at the bottom would suck in the winter. If I'm even In the running I would be a city driver which is what I am now. I don't do city at all. I pretty much just take extra outbound runs once the extra board is used up or hub runs. Right now I am number 1 at my start time which is nice. Moving to nc is just better for my family. Her career opportunites as well as hopefuly for me. I would eventually like to become a road driver just not at my center.Too much bs. I actually had the chance to become a road driver before the operation change but I turned it down because it was so slow. Thank god because I would have been screwed. I have been with fedex for 2 and a half years anf been driving for a year and a half. At my center right now it will take about 15 years to get a garbage day run.
 
I know its a gamble no matter where anybody goes. I mean at my center, if there was another change, first guy to go off the road boars has been there for 7 years. Part of me thinks I should just stay a city driver. Seems to be a safer bet. I actually had s layover in clt on thursday. I tried to ask a few people there but nobody really had any opinions. I talked to the center manager a few days ago but didn't really ask about how slow it will be in the winter. I asked about a thousand other questions but not that one. He definitely seemed like a cool dude.
