Central Transport | upper management meeting

Keylon and the 50 or so VP'smeeting on the weekend? They must be going to still everything thats not nailed down. They already have robbed the working guy and gal in this ragtag outfit. Watch out if they put a weekend in that means your going to lose something. Just think the bill count is almost up to one bill per each vice president. They will all leave with t-shirts on that say I'm with stupid.:poster_stupid::poster_stupid::Emoticon_digging:

Keylon to the group. "Each one of you will be given a chain and pad lock for your terminal's gate. You can call Pitt if you need help putting it on."

Cause and effect......Reaping and sowing.......It's getting close to paying the price for all the good people these jerks fired. You know the ones that were sacrificed to secure our future. In the name of progress.....People that did nothing but give them their heart and soul. I guess that wasn't good enough. Some deserved to lose their jobs, but many didn't. All they were guilty of is being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

they are gathering together probably to plan the final solution for this company I feel that we do not have much time left .I have increased my job hunting

Well said Train. Keylon and his minions fired many quality people that should not have been fired all because they were not "yes men" and @SS kissers. It is simply amazing how one person ( CK) can destroy a company from the outside in. He brought in all these Fedex outsiders and outcasts( Moriarity, Applesauce Mott, Frank "the hurse" Hurst, Darrell "harry" Harris, Tim "doogie howser" Dougan). They all make big bucks, really big bucks and what have they done to earn their paychecks? I'll tell you what they have done. They burn through $250,000 per day in losses. How many 48 by 48 by 48 pallets would it take to fill out 250 grand in one dollar bills? Literally, we are taking 250 grand a day, lighting it on fire, then watching it go up in smoke. They've turned a small campfire into a raging forest inferno( massive losses). And Keylon blames Kosovec, Kimack and all the others, not himself. Seriously, how can anyone take this guy seriously. The fact is, it is too late for anyone to save the Vitanic, the iceburg is 400 yards dead ahead. McClimon is planning either for our closure or fireside sale/giveaway to another LTL that is looking to expand in the midwest. Stick a fork in us and take us out of the crock pot, we are done. Start looking men if you have not already, don't be caught with your pants down around your ankles.

There is more than enough blame to pass around.....As I have said many times before I think Keylons biggest mistake was not taking a more pro-active effort in retaining the good sales reps...They took so much of our business with them and that hurt this companies bottom line. It's hard to recover from that. Here in Dallas we lost a sales rep that had been with us for 20+ years.....Kenneth Potter...He now works for the new "Dugan Truck Line" out of Wichita.....He took with him accounts we have had for years. See many customers are loyal to their rep....Its hard to recover from losses like that. Pops I think we are in trouble and taking on water but by downsizing and getting rid of some excess weight we could survive. I'm debt free and could retire well before 62 because of my wife and the good business decisions we have made over the years. I work here because its easy and I have a comfort level that my tenure gives me. We don't live pay check to pay check. They could fire me tomorrow and I really wouldn't care. I'm on my wife's health care so that wouldn't be an issue. Maybe that's why I don't fear this man like so many. Our former TM Paul Smith now works at OD as one of their dispatchers. He is a great family man and a very religious man with good morals and a good friend of mine. When you live right you have nothing to fear. God led him to a better place and I have never seen him happier. Vitran did him wrong. But God made it right. Just something for everyone to keep in mind. I know many don't like it when I bring religion in the mix, and for that I'm sorry. I always try to keep it to a minimum.

I would suggest you all look into your state laws to see if they have to give you notice of a closing or not. last time i looked, Wisconsin has 90 days notice if over 50 employees in the state, otherwise state gives you a paycheck for 90 days and confiscates property for auction to get paid back.

Have been reading the Vitran disaster for quite a while due to the fact I knew a few from West Chester Pa who ran around S. Jersey. I hope each and everyone of you guys land on your feet if by chance it does corkscrew into the ground-----Good kuck guys

Train are you talking about US Road Freight Express? I've seen a few of their trucks...they look decent but I don't know much about them other than what is on their website.

No, US Road is out of Wichita too...Just like Dugan Truck Line.....They are two different companies. However they are owned by the sons of John Dugan the original Dugan that started it all. Remember TNT Dugan then USF Dugan. One son owns US Road and the other owns Dugan......I don't think Chris Dugan the one that sold out to Vitran is one of them however. I believe John has 3 sons. Chris got 21 million from Vitran and got out I think, but I'm not sure. I suppose trucking is in there blood. I do have a question for anyone that knows about Holland.....When YRC bought USF and then shut it down....Here in Texas that included USF Bestway and USF Dugan. I thought USF Holland would have been shutdown too.. Why did they survive....Or was it another Holland trucking co.

Oh and just so you guys all know I spoke to Paul in Charlotte a few minutes ago. He said Corporate will not let him hire anyone at this time. There were myself and three others and they just put a freeze on. He didn't sound optimistic about things. Good luck to you all.

It will go by where Corporate HQ is, not the remote sites. That would be Indy for the US side. And as for the iceberg 400 yards ahead, I have to disagree. It has been struck already and is in the rearview mirror fading fast. It was several icebergs, named CK, Milan,Goetz and so on...
Downsizing is great, but if you are taking on water faster than you can pump it out, it doesn't matter how many deck chairs you throw overboard.....:hide:

USF Dugan in its last 5 years before being shut down was losing millions per month. After shutting down, their states were picked up by Holland and Reddaway except for Texas and several other southwest states. The Holland owned by YRC used to be TNT Holland and then was purchased by USF. Holland has been the number one profit driver for YRC making more profit than all other units combined. My understanding is all three regionals ( Holland, NewPenn and Reddaway) are all very healthy and making big profits for YRC while YRC itself is still losing millions per month. As has been said before, Holland is doing right around 29,000 bills per day in their 15 states serviced 100% plus several partial coverage states ( MS, NY,GA) and the province of ON.

Hopefully, there is nothing to the rumors.

But if Vitran closes the SE, which carriers benefit the most?

If Vitran closes all of US operations, who picks up those customers?
