FedEx Freight | KCY Shuttle Drivers

What's that ??

Back when prison guards rode around on horseback in the deep south and were called "Boss" there was an imaginary line across the prison yard and if you crossed it...well you can guess the rest ! If you ever pass through NW Mississippi in the vicinity of Parchman Pennitentiary dont be surprised if you see men on horses with shotguns watching over chain gangs.

When you have to move someone's truck out of your assigned parking spot everyday, it gets quite annoying. I don't care what other people do as long as it doesn't interfere with me doing my job or, potentially, harm the innocent. Example... Coming to work drunk.... To "rat" out another driver? How angry would you be if an unsafe driver plowed into your family and killed your wife and paralyzed your children! All could have been avoided if some idiot like you would have "ratted" out a fellow driver!
You sound like the type of 'person' who comes to work, puts on the blinders and does nothing to help FedEx be a better company! You sit around and complain, but do nothing else! Sometimes telling other drivers they are in error works. Usually not.
Wake up!!
Some of us help to make things better. Others drag it back down.

:479:somebody pm me this guys parking spot number, I got this sign that says "CRST and US Express parking ONLY!" I've been looking for a place to put it.

tALK ABOUT HAVING BLINDERS ON!!! You realize not ALL barns have assigned parking? you are assuming everyone does?

WOW again, special spot parking. You actually move another tractor out of your assigned spot, so you can park there and go work the dock? What dedication. You must make your micro manager moist. We did have assigned parking for two of our tractors at my terminal. Both of these drivers achieved Master Level Awards. They had there name on the tractor, and a sign on the fence for that tractor. I'm not sure what a drunk driver killing your wife and paralyzing all your children has to do with special spot parking, but I guess it fits in there some place. BG you are a shinning example of the purple promise. Keep up the good work. As for me, when I retired, my name came off the tractor and I took the sign home with me. Now they have one more unassigned spot to park your tractor in the yard. TP

You should only Rat out drivers that are above you on the seniority board. LOLJK. If I think you're doing something that is not in the best interest of FedEx or unsafe or illegal I'll rat you out at the drop of a hat. And if I'm not wearing a hat I'll borrow one. Until such time comes where my paychecks won't cash I'll bleed blue and purple. The second they start messing with my money I'll stop caring because I won't be here anymore.

I bet he's the same guy that parks right in front of the bullpen exit with his set and waddles his rearend in to get his door assignments.

roog

To achieve the Master Level Award you have to 10 years connective safe driving, 1 Million miles, and a total of 25 years safe driving for road drivers. Besides a customize tractor with your name on it that only you drive, you get and award dinner and five thousand dollars. Its a nice incentive to keep your nose clean. I had over 3 million miles and 30 years safe driving, and 33 years with the company when I was offered the severance package. I retired, took the money and ran like hell before they changed there mind. TP

Wow,that's alot of time to put in. I'm sure nobody at the barn i work at has done that yet. Just curious though, who attends this "award dinner"? Regional managers and such or some bigger wheels ?

At first it was attended by a few VP's and Directors, but I think there are a total of 39 of these drivers nation wide now, so its usually just attended by the terminal drivers and there families. TP

Name on a truck and your own parking place ? How long do you have to work here to get that ?

25 years safe driver. Name on truck and reserved parking area but not a specific slot.

Boy you will bring up anything you can to justify being a rat. Coming to work drunk is totally different than parking in my spot. You need to wake up and get your head out of mgmt's ass and just come in and do your job, You are probably the same person that sat in a meeting at kcy and whined like a ***** about someone leaving trash in truck. Even ratted another driver out in middle of meeting. Heard people talking about what a suckass this guy is.

Not the same guy, but I heard about that idiot. Uncalled for in a public meeting. I got up and left when the idiots started the individual bitches that didn't apply to the whole group. Don't waste my time ratting someone out.

I always have a reserved parking space and my own truck. My truck says FedEx on the side and the number matches the one on my dispatch sheet. My parking space is great. It's right between two other trucks where I can fit. Quit your whining. We play musical trucks everyday and get a different one everyday. No one can even leave a CB or SatRad in truck because you may never see it again so we clear out our trucks everyday.

In KCY, we were having such a problem finding a truck they decided to assign a numbered spot to the truck. That way we could have a chance at finding our truck and making our gate. Prior to this we would make the truck walk several times before actually getting lucky and finding one.

What Goda is referring to is some of the PM hub guys come in from other terminals and park wherever they want. There is a noticed posted for them to park inside the fence in the center part designated for shuttle driver parking. When Goda returns from his run, there is a truck parked in his assigned spot. It is aggravating because when you are done with your run, you just want to go home. If you park somewhere else, your SS driver won't be able to find the truck.

KCY has run a lot smoother since implementing this change. We still have drivers that will park in spot 98 on the west fence when the truck goes in spot 98 on the spare line. I'm not sure how that happens when the map has a diagram of the lot with the truck numbers in the spot and area they are to be parked in.
