My husband and I were heading to his job Thursday night when a car hit us. My husband is in ICU on ventilator after surgery and is pretty busted up, broken ribs. Surgeon said he's not out of the woods yet and has him in a medically induced coma. Removed spleen and he needed transfusions.

The idiot that hit us took off leaving us laying on our side in a 30ft drop off side of road and there's no evidence we touched the embankment. Just skid marks where we were hit and pushed backwards until we flew off then dropped.

The idiot was later caught, arrested and booked on charges of felony hit and run. He lawyered up and refused to take blood tests.

Pray my husband fully recovers and will be trucking again soon. That he'll be back laughing and joking with his buddies saying his favorite phrase to them: "Whatever Dude".

I sure miss the old fart and fighting over the remote. Off to sew the belt loops back on his Conway pants. I KNOW he will be wearing them again. Soon. Gotta keep that hope.

This transcends Union-non-Union, Company vs. Company. ABF driver here. We'll be praying for you and your husband, too. Please keep us updated....

Prayer sent from me...

To get hit hard enough it pushed your vehicle backwards at all (even one foot) is one thing. For another car to knock you backwards and make you fly over a 30ft embankment without even touching the embankment is an incredible amount of force + speed. To think that the other car was still able to drive off is mind boggling. What's even more incredible is that your alive. That's an absolute nightmare you've gone through. What city and state did the accident occur? What was the accident date? I'd like to look it up on and see any news casts on it and wonder if the other driver is going to be DUI for refusing to give test results.

There is a link to the wreck. Let me see if I can get it on here. Not home on my computer. As a daughter in law of a man that ran a wrecker service for 25+ years you'd see a lot of weird things. Accidents that look like someone should ace walked away from the driver would be dead. Horrible accidents would have the driver walking off without a scratch. I'm not going to fight with you here. My husband and fellow Conway driver is in critical shape in ICU. All I asked was for thoughts and prayers for your fellow driver. Please if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all. Neither of us walked away without injuries.

Go to KSLA News 12 Coverage You Can Count on for the ArkLaTex - KSLA News 12 Shreveport, Louisiana News Weather & Sports and look for picture if guy named Cleve Batte. He hit us. Anyone have their doubts or whatever then contact any Memphis line haul driver you know and ask. They'll tell you.
I haven't checked it out but no doubts here. I was wanting to see what they were saying about the other driver. I hope he gets in big trouble. If I hit someone I'd have no problem submitting blood or breath to clear that part up.

Arrest made in Miller County hit and run that injured 2 - KSLA News 12 Shreveport, Louisiana News Weather & Sports

Wow, you two are lucky to be alive. I have drove that stretch of road many times in the past when I pulled a pneumatic trailer delivering cement. That is one scary winding, twisting, hilly road, (or at least it was 15 years ago when I ran it for the last time.)

How's tired driver and you doing? I'll keep you and your family on my prayer list. God bless you two.

BTW. Would Cleve Batte jr., be the son of Cleve Batte Construction there in Fouke and Texarkana, AR.?
