Brother Renscout,....your pension plan can do the research for you in the case of name/owner changes, and reciprocity. If you think you have a dispute with them, the Social Security Administration, for a very small fee, can research and verify employment in any affected year. Government records trump privately funded defined benefit plan records in the event of a dispute, by the way.
