Over the last 2 months we in STL(621) have put around 15 guys back on due to the overtime formula. We have laid off guys working 7 punches. Now over the last 3 weeks they have laid off 11. We still have overtime out the butt, but were told we've lost 1.6% customer freight. Just wondering if it's just us at 621 or everywhere. We also heard that Holland is picking up around 1200 bills a day to YRC's 600.

Here at 309 there still is OT going...The dock has been working about 60 soft layoff people 5 days a week...no 6th or 7th days. No call backs of layoff people here on the dock...I hear that drivers have been called back from layoff...as for the Holland bill pick up I have no Idea.:funky:

Unfortunately many of your Brothers have been forced to seek less than comparable jobs to maintain their family units. This also puts them "out of the loop". STL was one of the terminals devastated in the economic downturn. If you have been at this company for any length of time, you should know the company regularly adds employees, per the formula, when business agents stay on top of the numbers. They then lay them back off, when the numbers favor it. This is an ongoing cycle every year. I suggest if you need a better explanation of this, you consult the formulas in the NMFA, not beat everyone for your laziness.

I, my brother, am not lazy. I was looking for input from other terminals to see if they are working large amounts of overtime with laid off workers working 6 and 7 punches. YRC claims to be hurting for money but they **** money away. I know I have a HUGE amounts of brothers and sisters that have been laid off and have had to seek employment elsewhere. I've been with Yellow 21 years. I am now at my second terminal. I've been in STL for 10 years now.It is mismanaged beyond compare. I've seen other post where people have given imput on terminals, so I was looking for the same. I was not looking for an explanation of the formula, my brother. But thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry we all couldn't respond....most of us are laid off, called back, laid off, called back, laid off, called back, laid off, called back, laid off and then we go back to our really, really, really, really, really, really schmity job with a really, really, really, really, really schmity company. We come on here to see what's happening but we can't really give you input because we are useless, no good, under employed truck drivers and we like to hear about our old barns and the hostile work environment so we don't feel so bad and then we go to bed and remember the good old days when YRC was Roadway or Yellow and we all had jobs and the word MERGE had something to do with MaBell and not us. That's all, we still love you, we just have nothing to say....(ok, love is a little strong).....I hope this cleared things up:)
