Thank you Jimmy for your constructive critism of my post..Iam flawed..But not on this!! With all do respect you are also flawed with the assumption that I dont run my own business. I do run my own business and you do also, and so don't all the other 34,999 other employees of YRC.Our business that we run every day is the business of running our households. We have a constant idea and knowledge that business plans are inherently strategic. You start here, today, with certain resources and abilities. You want to get to a there, a point in the future at which time your business will have a different set of resources and abilities as well as greater profitability and increased assets. Our plans as teamsters are lived everyday on how a household will get from here to there. Everyday my brother teamsters wake up and proceed to work with this type of plane in their head, most of them without the knowledge of "here to there". We show up to work, give what is expected of us and assume that we are moving forward. Unfortunately we are not. We are moving backwards. YRC is a business, their business plan has the same goals as mine and every other teamster that they employ but they have decided to circumvent the basic morals of business. They have "assumed" that more money can be made by taking money away from their main product, which is their workforce.
How conviently they have taking tactics that they themselves would never have tolerated. In other words my brothers.. if a business had owed YRC money or was delinquent on money owed to YRC, what would they do with their freight. Would they not hold their freight or ask the company for payment on delivery. How many times have you made a delivery and your computer screen has said "COD" because the company owes them money for freight charges. Now you as a paid employee has to negotiate terms for payment. What would YRC say to you if the customer said.. "umm sorry ain't got it".. they would tell you to not deliver the shipment.
Now move it back to your business that you are running..YRC is now telling you.. "umm sorry ain't got it".. What is your answer to them???
Brothers this has been a constant struggle for centuries.. Management says work more... We say work smarter..
Jimmy i won't assaut you as a person because I feel you are scared of your future. I.. and my brother teamsters do not fear the future.. we embrace it. Most of us have been through this turmoil and have come out better on the other side.. the other side meaning.. living with yourself is much better that living for someone else.
Remember... Their silence on this matter is DEAFINING

There is always someone out there to correct every little wrong that they see....................................I'm sure we get the drift.

Hey, it's getting cold up north................got to have a reason to party in the South...................good luck guys. I've been listening to this.........."YRC is going down." crap for five years now. I said it wouldn't happen then and I pray it won't happen now.

So you spent that whole post with flawed thinking! Working for less wages (that the IBT approved) is not 'being owed' anything!!!!!!!!!! It's like me bringing you groceries- the price marked on them is three dollars- I scratch it out, mark 35 dollars, but then let you have them for three, and say 'you owe me thirty two dollars'. You can call it whatever you want- they don't owe you a dime. You worked for a wage you agreed to work for- they paid you. You're even. Be Glad you weren't looking for a job, as many have had to....

Since you accepted that wage and continued to work, you collected whatever you made the past 5 years when they had every logical reason to close. So in effect- perhaps under the 'they owe you' logic- you owe them 200,000.00??????

What this has to do with Thomas Jefferson (on your knees) is beyond me. Jefferson had to put his life, his possessions, his sacred honor on the line for Freedom against Tyranny just to stay alive. Youre playing victim while still collecting a wage many in America can't even imagine. In the World Perspective- you're in the Top 1% of wages......The guys at Central think you're being paid a King's Ransom! But do continue playing victim. It's most entertaining. I pray you make out well. I'm not your enemy- we're on the same team. I just believe you guys are brainwashed, and doomed to failure....

If that's the case why does my check have two figures, what I made and what I SHOULD have made

Simple: you guys collapse- it collapses Central States when you all hit the Pension. That directly effects me....

Plus- the hilarity of the ignorance on here is irrestistable!

Yes, a few of us are un-educated and definitely not rocket scientists nor "efficiency engineers!"
BUT, we are still Teamsters, and I hope/pray that we all know and understand the word Solidarity.
LTL Teamsters were the foundation of the IBT from the very beginning. What the Hell happened???

With your financial future at stake, now I understand the comments.
I, myself, am not pleased in the negative direction of YRC.
If anyone has researched the past 5 years of YRC quarterly results, the regionals have gained market share every single quarter, while YRC Freight has lost market share. I place 90% blame on the clueless, numbers crunching corporation and illustrious management/supervisors.

We, the members of Local 952, have decided, without any new funding towards the Western States Pension Plan, we vote NO on any extension!

All the ( BS) what it boils down to is, you agree to a contract for a specific term that all agree to
(Labor / management ) you don't have hidden agendas and do it 3.. Times in one contract being dishonest every step.
We are only asking for the company to honor one of the three they have signed .
The company knows every benchmark they need to hit.
So stop all the bashing, this is about real peoples lives ( Family's )

I understand the frustration; I just hope you realize there are tens of thousands of Teamsters Families you might be dooming in the process. Many have no hope without this job. They can lose their health insurance, lose their chance for a decent job, lose their home. One company I worked for closed- one of my ex-co-workers committed *******. Many divorced. And if YRCW closes- it makes ABF the only remaining IBT LTL company left. That puts freight on the Nons more than ever.

Debt is a killer..

I don't see them being dishonest; I see them broke. They had a plan that actually might have worked until the economy fell apart. And all the goings on in Washington DC making new job-killing regulations every week is dooming any chance they did have. Personally, I don't see YRCW making it, but I said that 5 years ago, and several times since. Their only chance at all is refinancing the balloon payments. So vote your conscience, and be ready to live with the consequences....

Give it up "kook". Go to your appropriate board and ***** and moan on it. The YRC Freight members have issues to discuss, and don't need your input.

What is my appropriate board? I've been on the YRC board since it was Yellow's board. 11 1/2 years so far on these boards.. 22 years in the IBT; 10 years with Yellow. So far, the only 'discussions' I've seen is to insult anyone that doesn't agree with a certain view.....

So, I ask again- Isn't the problem the balloon payment? How can shutting YRCW down and putting freight on Non-Union trucks help the Teamsters?????

you are counting things that aren't there as being there. You should be in Congress.....

Actually, you nor I can prevent YRCF from shuffling freight to our own regionals (competition) or to non-union companies, regardless of our vote.
