Thank you Jimmy for your constructive critism of my post..Iam flawed..But not on this!! With all do respect you are also flawed with the assumption that I dont run my own business. I do run my own business and you do also, and so don't all the other 34,999 other employees of YRC.Our business that we run every day is the business of running our households. We have a constant idea and knowledge that business plans are inherently strategic. You start here, today, with certain resources and abilities. You want to get to a there, a point in the future at which time your business will have a different set of resources and abilities as well as greater profitability and increased assets. Our plans as teamsters are lived everyday on how a household will get from here to there. Everyday my brother teamsters wake up and proceed to work with this type of plane in their head, most of them without the knowledge of "here to there". We show up to work, give what is expected of us and assume that we are moving forward. Unfortunately we are not. We are moving backwards. YRC is a business, their business plan has the same goals as mine and every other teamster that they employ but they have decided to circumvent the basic morals of business. They have "assumed" that more money can be made by taking money away from their main product, which is their workforce.
How conviently they have taking tactics that they themselves would never have tolerated. In other words my brothers.. if a business had owed YRC money or was delinquent on money owed to YRC, what would they do with their freight. Would they not hold their freight or ask the company for payment on delivery. How many times have you made a delivery and your computer screen has said "COD" because the company owes them money for freight charges. Now you as a paid employee has to negotiate terms for payment. What would YRC say to you if the customer said.. "umm sorry ain't got it".. they would tell you to not deliver the shipment.
Now move it back to your business that you are running..YRC is now telling you.. "umm sorry ain't got it".. What is your answer to them???
Brothers this has been a constant struggle for centuries.. Management says work more... We say work smarter..
Jimmy i won't assaut you as a person because I feel you are scared of your future. I.. and my brother teamsters do not fear the future.. we embrace it. Most of us have been through this turmoil and have come out better on the other side.. the other side meaning.. living with yourself is much better that living for someone else.
Remember... Their silence on this matter is DEAFINING
