So, am I the only ham radio operator on the road at night, that drivers for this company? :)

no you are not !!! during my time @ ups freight there were 4 in the southeast . they were on 2&10 meters nightly.also a couple that I knew of in the Midwest. look around you for any different antennas & ask around the yards you may visit they are there.

Oh I've looked, non of the drivers from the 6 terminals in my area are. In fact I get a bad time from some of them because I don't have a CB in the truck. Normally I run 2m and 70cm, can run 6 meters as well. On the rare longer trips I get, I have APRS running. Once I told my TM I have my own tracking system running, he stopped giving me crap about missing my ETA (due to traffic) by a few minutes.
