Where Were You 50 Years Ago Today?

It was 50 years ago today that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. For sure a poignant and pivotal moment in history, the events that day forever changed our world.

I was in school, someone came to the classroom door and whispered something to the teacher. She began to cry. Then she went into the hall, and the entire class followed.

I asked what was going on, someone told me, and I remember looking down the hall as children and teachers began pouring into it, as if we could somehow see something.

It wasn't long and school was ended for the day and we were all sent home.

So, for those of you who are old enough, do you remember that day?

I was eleven and in my 7th. grade math class. The teacher Mrs. Brock was an extremely stern woman. When the principle announced over the p.a. system that the president had been shot, Mrs. Brock immediately began crying. I don't know if it was live when I saw it on tv, but I remember watching Jack Ruby shoot Oswald two days later.

I wasn't even though of yet, but i wrote 2 papers on him in high school. A man gone before his time, it should have never happened this way.

Killing Kennedy is a good book to read.

i was in school at a time when back then, we would go home for lunch. we were let out for lunch, when i got home, dad was sitting on the sofa...

dad never came home for lunch, his company sent everyone home that day.

we were told, not to return to school after lunch.

i did not know back then, the significance of killing, assassination, murder or even guns.

I was playing with my Beagle. I played with my Beagle a lot in those days. Actually I still play with my Beagle. I call him Ziggy.

I don't know where I was, not even a gleam in Daddy's eye yet The one thing I do know is I wasn't cheating on my wife with a drugged up tart, plus many others.

God was in the process of making the most awesome human being. Took him another 15 years to decide who got me.

John had alot of skeletons in his closet, prolly ordered the hit on Marlayn, the clan as a whole is morally incorrect, killers, and overall...scum.

Good prez, maybey, the public at the time didn't know how shady he was, probably a good thing, then we have Clinton, he was a school boy compared to any of the Kennedy's.

I was drilling on mummy's breast. Thank God she had two.

well (at least) 2 things to say about that...

1) better to play with your Beagle, than yourself i suppose..

2)..if that Beagle is STILL alive..he'd be what now.....50 years old...human age...or 350 dog years..??

some of you "youngin's" are lucky NOT to have been born yet.

the Cold War, which was a part of the Russian Missile Crises, segregation in the south, the rioting, the Viet Nam war/conflict, and many other things, led to some tense moments.

i do not believe he ordered any "hit" on the woman he slept with, but then again....i believe the mob and the Cubans WERE involved in his assassination, so conspiracy buffs will always believe what they hear from others that think they "know it all"...

i do not believe ANY politician has a "clean closet"....so skeletons are bound to be found. and frankly, how many of us can say we have no skeletons in our closets..???

i know i do not have any.....i recently had to paint the insides of each closet in my house....

what a P.I.T.A.....

not too many people like the Kennedy clan...to me, as long as a Kennedy does the job, what else can i realistically do............and then.....they make headlines.....and i say..
"here we go again"....and for "the record"...i never voted ANY Kennedy into office...

it's sorta like the old tv/radio announcer, Howard Cosell, you either liked him, or hated him...no middle ground....

and that was a near direct quote from Frank Gifford, who used to work the football games with him, i do believe "Dandy" Don Meredith same the same thing.

Watching Cartoons and wasn't at all happy when the news interrupted the show.
I knew nothing of who was the president of anything and didn't care, I just wanted more Cartoons.

I think my Mother was upset yet the assassination didn't affect me and still doesn't.

Go back 50 yrs & I was 18yrs old & a truck driver who had just got his HT license, no doubt I thought I new everything.
