Anyone know of any drivers that quit recently?
Post here but no last names. Years of sevice, terminal number and how many.

Does involuntarily quit count? LOL....
yep........ all counts. Post away. I thought that this was a good job but when sombody with 15 years and a good record just says he had enuf.... really is hard to imagine since we have nothing to fall back on but driving down the highway

Around 4 or 5 total at 028. Two were involuntary and two or three left on their own. The two involuntary were a long timer and a short timer. The voluntary were a couple new hires that moved on and maybe one or two with a couple years that moved on. Looks like some replacements are being processed but it takes time. I say no rush, as equipment is still pretty scarce. My exact numbers may be wrong so any corrections would be appreciated.

Sometimes the old timers don't like change. We have had lots of change in the last 12 to 24 months. I know of one involuntary no name or barn number sorry protecting the guilty err innocent whomever he/she might be. I will say it didn't surprise me !

I think it has a lot to do with just what you said.."Not liking change"...For the better,yes...For the reason of a couple of whinning tiddy babies,no..But, ya take the good, with the bad...I think it has lot to with the guys being out here so long..I've been in this business for 33 years, this passed March...I know I'm a pup, compared to some..But I've seen this business go from bad,to worse to good,to great and back again..I've been union, and non-union..It's bad all over...You leave here and go somewhere else,it may look different, but after a while,it gets to be not so different...Every 10 years this business changes...Either deal with it,fight for better things,or quit...Those are your basic choices...I know I'm near to the end of my time here, but things are rough all over...

To those who have chosen to move on,good luck...To those who decide to stay and make things better, good luck...I've learned, you can't let this business get inside you...Do your job..Provide for those who need you...And go home...Let the company "big shots" get the headaches and gray hair...Have a Happy Easter....

Oh...To answer your question Mildew..I don't know anyone who has quit or gotten fired...HAGD...

2 in 047.... 1 long timer another 1 or 2 years.
Not to mention a long timer that had to give it up for health reasons

Great post stark, best I've seen in some time.

1 at 024 last month don't think he had alot of time maybe 1 year or so.
Plus me if I can get hired elswhere.

I appriciate the above post but it's been a while since i worked in a companny with so many unhappy people both drivers and mgr's.
I guess the thing thats making me look is all of the wasted time.24 hour layovers being called in off rest when loads aren't even closed out.....Enough is enough!

If my POS truck doesn't stop breaking down every week I will be leaving . I hear at OD you dont drive the same bomb all of the time. Dont get me wrong I like it here but damn the lost time and miles. Otherwise why quit? BTW as this is an isolated issue, just ignore my rants.

Depends on the OD terminal you run out of,we have assigned tractors at my barn..

two in my barn (couple of weeks ago) one utility who had only been here a couple of weeks and one p&d, been here < year. i've been here a little bit less than a year (xtraboard) and yes there's plenty of waiting, but overall i'm happy to be here.

For some reason, the waiting never bothered me. I don't think I'm normal though. lol

lol, that makes two of us mildew. yes it would be nice to get paid while we wait, but lets be real Estes wouldn't survive if they did
but everywhere i go i always hear drivers complaining about something, then again people always find something to complain about

Well NC thats what truck drivers do best,we *****,speculate, and hypothesize. The truly talented ones can sit around and speculate about a hypothetical situation and then ***** about it,convincingly.

Well I have seen alot of changing in the last 3 years, them getting rid of guys on Linehaul like 5 that had alot more time at this company then the new guys they kept that started fresh on the Utility thing, Then seeing all these guys that got alot less years at this company then others and the lesser years have it so much better.
I can understand why guys would not like there job and want to leave this place.

I know the Big E has been that way with the City, Hub, Linehaul and now Utility, but when you see guys that got 5, 6, 3, 3, more years then guys they kept that is B.S.

No other company does it this way that I can think of.

I've said it before and I will say it again 2 boards a City and Road board (they could still pay a guys less on a hub run or Utility run, or ETC., would make things fair around here and not **** so many off.

I like variety it would be nice to get out on the Road for a year then maybe do Utility, then maybe a Hub run, and then go back to road, catch my drift, variety not being stuck doing one thing just cause you gotta worry about some guy with alot less years at this place taking you over on whatever you do.
That is what screwed me I was on Linehaul and never expected them doing what they did, got let go and they kept the Utility, Hub guys even though I had more years at this company and have worked the dock, been in the city, worked on the hub, and been hear a long time, but because most of that was linehaul, ohh **** on it I could go on and on, but I do know guys that got let and are alot better off then they were at Estes, they know where they stand now.

But like they say if you don't like it tuff, you are free to leave. Im out.

Our utility guys get to spend 5 months out of the year at home. They don't seem to be too upset because they never bid on a scheduled run or extraboard.

Mildew,I've heard several times, from different people in the Estes family, that the rumor of "Company Seniority Bidding" is coming very, very soon...

I have to agree with you Stark, I too have been out here almost 31 years now. I currently work for Reddaway but to quote a freind of mine when I asked him about FedEX Freight.....it's just another trucking company...only worse, the truth is there is no perfect place to work, we can go to any forum on TB and there is not one where it is all unicorns and palm tree's. If you work for Estes, Fed Ex, Reddaway, OD, Holland, New Penn or even YRC (if you are lucky enough to still have a job there) you have one of the best jobs in the trucking industry as far as pay and benefits go.
