Central Transport | I would like your opinion and comments on something...

Are you all getting your insurance from Cobra where it states we was all terminated we are here in our area .We had to call Highmark they said that was what was put on the paperwork from Vitran and that if everybody gets it they need to get it taken care of we even got it on our life insurance yesterday we called about it they said that was the way it was sent in termination on just about all of them that has came in so far.The man yesterday said everybody better go back and look at their cobra info they are sending out where they can get it taken care of before it hits the work record.
 
Was the COBRA info in the benefit package? We haven't received that yet. Thanks for sharing. COBRA is a great solution for the short term disability. That never occurred to me.
 
We got our first package that health,dental and eye which was high.Second package came yesterday and in it was the life which was already terminated Nov.24 and I was still at V .The lady said she was not sure if we would get a short term chance.But everybody does need to look at the termination on she said there was plenty of boxes that could have been checked liked other they could have put merger said they have gotten alot of calls still getting them.

Did the package come in the mail? I'd think that package would be termination proof for unemployment. I can't find anything via google that indicates there are states that don't have partial unemployment benefits. Why aren't the people being denied appealing the denial?
 
They are appealing it now if it works we will see.All our info came in a benefit package one at a time each week but they got to have all of them mailed according to the man yesterday everybody got to have them by the end of the month due to finaliaztion you have 2 wks to let them know about if you want any part of Cobra the only thing that was cheap was the dental all other was very high just for the 2 of us.The package came in the mail but not all at one time Highmark mailed theirs out first then a week later we got the life info I guess this week we will get the disability for short term if we do.All this info was shown by one driver at the unemployment office they said well this is from V not from CT so that means you still have a job.The one on our life came from the life insurance their selves which it showed termination on Nov.24 when I was still working at V alot of us was .We also was told that our terminal would move across the street every saturday now we was told yesterday they are not doing it.According to the unemployment if they are offered a job within the co then no they get nothing at all.Which CT did offer them to move about 4-5 hrs away you could either driver it or get you a motel drive back home on saturdays what would you be making alot of us could not move.

I can understand how unemployment views everyone as employed, but it sounds like everyone who is working less days should qualify for partial benefits. Think about focusing more on loss of work instead of loss of job.

Agree with jacknife18, need to know what state and can you post the notice on TB?
 
Dislikes: pay is worst, I can tolerate a lot if pay is right.

Likes: the doors are unlocked, I can leave for a new job whenever I want. :)
 
Eagledad. It occurred to me yesterday that the problem might simply be you are all applying for unemployment as Vitran employees instead of partial unemployment as Central employees. Applying as Vitran employees seems to be why they are saying, "You have a job at Central." If you apply for partial as a Central employee, it might go easier.

The interesting thing to me is that a fellow employee is asking this. Why is CT management not contacting employees asking these questions? Oh yeah, they do not care.
 
Maybe the real question is this??? how come CT hasn't hired grief therapist to sit down and talk with each and everyone and take notes and compile them give them to Matty Jr. and maybe after he reads the notes he'll cave and let you guys have everything you want and you will be happy and productive????? or not.................:hysterical:

Nice that they changed my start time from 8am to 9am without letting me know until I got here. At least now I am not late for work.

A grief therapist is actually a great idea. With proper implementation, maybe CT's turnover rate wouldn't be so ridiculous.

By the way... I've ALREADY witnessed CT drivers quitting. Truth. There will be more. Double Truth.

You guys are funny....Grief therapist...That's funny....My job can sometimes frustrate me and I will make a change...but it has very little to do with my happiness...My happiness and joy in my life is grounded in my family and faith....We all have free will and can leave anytime if things become unbearable at your job....Our belief about ourselves are the single most telling factor in determining our success and happiness in life...THERE IS NO SCARCITY OF OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A LIVING AT WHAT YOU LOVE....THERE'S ONLY A SCARCITY OF RESOLVE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.
