I have seen a lot of stuff in 28 yrs in the freight industry. Yrc has undoubtedly abused everyone that works for this company. What they are currently doing is definitely BY DESIGN. They have gotten there way twice and are merely trying to see if we are suckers one more time. Why would they wait till the last minute to "need a new agreement right now" ? Companies plan there strategies in two, five and ten year plans. They are getting plenty from us already, there just not using OUR MONEY wisely. VOTE NO and force YRC to manage within there means. Force YRC to cut out more of the corporate fat and get rid of unwarranted local over managing.

This our chance to take a stand together and show YRC that we are not going to continue to let them STEAL OUR MONEY any longer.
Draw a line in the sand and say no to our leadership! The banks are not going to pull the plug on this cash cow. This is just a bluff, dont fall for it.

VOTE NO and thank you for your time.

With the clock ticking on YRC Worldwide Inc.’s $1.4 billion in debt, rank-and-file membership of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters is not warming up to a new agreement the company said is vital to ensuring the company's survival.

The union is considering the terms of a new labor deal. Ballots have been mailed out and are due to be counted in early January. CEO James Welch has said he’s confident the union will ratify the proposal.

On Monday, Vic Terranella, president of Kansas City’s Teamsters Local 41, said a majority of union members he has spoken with do not support the proposed agreement and are going to vote against it.

Terranella held meetings during the weekend and continues to speak with YRC Teamsters in Kansas City. He said he does not support the new agreement, either.

Bruce Frakes, an over-the-road driver based in Kansas City and a former union steward, said he’s traveled to the Overland Park-based carrier’s (Nasdaq: YRCW) terminals throughout the Midwest and heard the same things from Teamsters elsewhere.

“It’s my opinion that a majority of the rank-and-file workers — drivers, dockworkers and clerical — are not in support,” he said.

Frakes, who helped represent the union during previous concessions, said an overwhelming majority of the Teamsters he’s spoken with oppose the proposed changes. He said they are not willing to go back any further than they already have. Frakes also said he does not think YRC will fail if the proposal is not ratified.

YRC has told the union it needs its help to pay down $1.4 billion in debt that comes due in 2014 and 2015. The earliest payment — $69 million — comes due in February.

Why Didn’t the IBT Negotiate with YRC?

December 16, 2013: Some 26,000 YRCW Teamsters are voting on a five-year contract extension with new concessions, and yet the leadership of their union never negotiated with the corporation. What’s wrong with this picture?

At the meeting of local officials held on December 6, IBT Freight Director Tyson Johnson was asked this question directly. His answer was that since he had heard loud and clear that the members didn’t want more concessions, he refused to bargain with the company. So, instead he sat for days with the company negotiators, but didn’t bargain on behalf of the members.

Then the Hoffa administration simply mailed the company’s proposal to the members, as a kind of, “accept it or watch your job disappear” ultimatum. What kind of leadership is that? None at all.

The union leadership could have told YRCW that they would negotiate at the same time that YRCW negotiated with their lenders, and so the union would have some leverage over the outcome. Not to ask members to first give concessions, then hope for the best from the bankers.

That’s why so many YRC Teamsters are speaking out against the concessionary deal, and many local officers are refusing to endorse it as well.

The lack of leadership from the Hoffa administration goes much deeper. For the past 15 years they have done nothing to defend our union or to organize in freight, or in carhaul or other trucking fields. They don’t have a strategy and don’t understand Teamster power. They have not organized; they have not defended the national master contracts or the members’ pensions.

So now YRC Teamsters are left to fend for themselves. Shame on you, James Hoffa, Ken Hall, Tyson Johnson, and Gordon Sweeton.

To see if these IBT leaders have taken a 15% cut or given up their pensions, see the $150,000 Club report.
