Yellow | 2 million reasons to vote yes

What makes you think you have anything to negotiate with?
You have one company to go to now.ABF.
And they know that.
They are closing 30 terminals.
All of our jobs will only get worse if we fold and they know that too.
Maybe you should step away from the pipe.
The big shots of the industry will celebrate with us gone.
22000 out of their way to do as they please. Only workers lose with a no.

UPS, UPS Freight, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Spartan Stores, Super Value......
There was a list at one time in the Holland Indy terminal of over 10 local companies that were in Central States.
What about the 50,000 jobs they have already eliminated?????
I have several regionals so good at what they do that they are profitable, and HIRING in January, to bargain with...
Everyone wins with a NO vote because we did not believe the LIE that the will go out of business.
Have you read anything in the financial press lately. They already have the finances worked out and we haven't even ended the ballot yet.....

The re-financing plan is worked out on paper but it clearly states that it is contingent on the MOU being approved. Is it a bluff? Who knows. We'll find out soon enough.

How do you get people interested in organizing when our new selling point is not fighting for decent contracts, but "Join our union. Whatever the company wants, the company gets."
Isn't that the truth, you can get that without paying dues and watching them get fat all the while.

I have seen many different decertification threads, but, I have to ask, decertify to what exactly?
1. Become non union? Not acceptable imo.
2. Decertify and have another union represent us? Who? I can't think of anyone decent.
3. The only option that makes any sense is to form our own union at least we could keep the 15 million per year" in house" so to speak, rather than, send it to the national. I think that we would also be more motivated to to organize other carriers as well.
Or course this would be a huge undertaking.
I don't know of any other options???

When you look at the actual deal, not what YRC says about the deal, they seem to have already gone through without a final vote count...

Except the deal is not set to through until the end of the month, in other words no money has changed hands and no papers are signed.................

Please tell me where it is that you're looking at the "actual deal" that has already gone through.

They save these concessions will save them 100 million a year well what about the last round that was suppose to save them 300 million a year!!???
Do you really think this 100 million makes a big difference in the scope of them refinancing?? Hell no!! But hey, why wouldn't they ask for it when they know people don't have the balls to fight back.

How are we supposed to fight, when a no vote drives the company into bankruptcy...and we are out the job? You think with Welch's salary he has a problem with not going to work tomorrow? He's got enough bank to pay full price for his health bens, hes got enough bank to finish paying his kids college loans, hes got enough bank to keep putting food on the table. I highly doubt the rest of the rank and files can say the same. With such a low turn over rate ( despite the hardships of the company) a no vote sticks the rest of us either in the unemployment line or in an even shakier application line for a job thats going to set you back a heft portion in pay compared to what we all worked so hard for for years and years.

voting no quite possible votes you out of the job. You dont want to work with them quit, but i hope people didn't think that a no vote was some kind of last ditch effort to takedown the terrible management. You want to take them down, do it from the inside....i just hope people thought about how a no vote is going to effect everyone else too.

we'll see how well looking out for number one works in the unemployment line when you have to face all the others you just voted out of a job

i hope to god I'm wrong

Everyone wins with a NO vote

who wins with a no vote? that would drive the company into bankruptcy and quite possible boot us out of the job? you really think all the non union employees are going to "win" because someone thinks that voting them out of the job is going to take down the man?

Either way your gonna get bent over. Just deal with it!

looks like it was a little shy of 2 million reasons...

It ain't over till the doors close or we have a better place to go. Go back to the beginning of the thread. It ain't over till we all get moving and organize. Now's the time. The time is now. They could close as was told us and if they don't they'll be back soon enough.

no need to try and organize right now. we have more than enough on our plate trying to straighten this place out.if we can,the outlook for organizing will increase when the nons see we stood together and forced positive change from management. good luck to all of us.

You lost, slaven. Now you'll have to wait for another vote before
Ya can sell us out. Back under the desk for you, for now.
Wooooooo!!!

Welch made his best effort to bully us into this MOU. Using the Holidays and the mailings to our homes...etc. The press release that included " This will give us what we need to keep everyone showing up for work." Jimmy the thief just left us out there to decide for ourselves without any negotiations or accurate information. Now maybe they will start negotiations and put something up to the vote that both sides can accept or wait till the contract comes due. We need more, give it to us or else...didn't work this time, it's time for them to cut the bulls..t and lay there cards on the table.

No offense but people like Slavenomore are the problem. Willing to give up everything our former Teamster brothers fought for. What a *****. That's right, I said it, *****. Disgusting.

The members were told they would have to choose their own destiny....we did so on our own....no help from IBT....now we will have acept that destiny...close the doors....it will not "affect my lifestyle or income"
....I will drive somewhere.....KK

The company had a plan B the whole time and now they will sit down with the banks and work that deal out.......Company just wanted to milk out some more dollars out of the rank and file with the scare tactics.......IT DID NOT WORK!!!!!!!........Way to stand tall........Wish I was still with yall to celebrate but I am retired.......JMO.......out
