It is a shame we can not start a page somewhere else so that we all can stay in touch so we would not upset certain ones that comes on the page.Oh Well. Runawaytrain I call it like I have seen it thanks so much for the prayers I have been back at work and start my new job monday we have not been getting any runs for the last 2 wks. before that one day a week with my meds and my wife's too we have to look out for our family so it was real hard seeing our terminal shut down alot of people without jobs here.I just pray for everybody and that I can stay stage 1 for a good while. With all the prayers and cards that I got when I got sick it was amazing to us.A few weeks ago I went down front and asked our pastor to pray for all my Vitran brothers and sisters the whole church did and still is.I guess after next week there will be no Vitran linehaul driver there because all of them has found a job.I will keep posting on here till it closes but not on CT.

During my research for the job search, I found a internet site that was completely dedicated to the company history of a trucking company that closed down. There were photos and stories and I believe a way for former employees to keep in touch. They have reunions. I thought that was touching. It speaks volumes about how truckers feel about their companies. If I can find it again, I'll post a link. I can't remember the name of the company right now.

For the years I've been reading the Vitran forum (and my brief tenure with them and subsequent injury, as told here) the discussion has almost always been of human dignity. That being what people are worth, how things could be better, what the best for all concerned could be, contrasted in everyone's daily reality. Never let anyone's casual and callous comment come between what has grown between all of you here. I may lurk, but have been reading long enough to care about you guys as if we worked side by side.

i think its a bulljive situation how Vitran has so many caring drivers that wants to provide good customer service but becoming a part of CT, now Vitran workers have to absorb the mentality of "ram it, cram it, pick it up and slam it" mentality of getting freight to customers. Maybe, just maybe Vitran drivers will bring high morals and standards to CT and will add quality service to the "shortened" paychecks that are coming from CT.

I won't rain on your parade......But I must say "good luck with that."

Vitran drivers look out for each other .At our old place if there was a driver that did not get a good run on the extra board we all rotated to share a trip so they would have a good income coming in as well as the rest of us. Our customers loved the way we did our job how we went out of our way to make their shipment on time. One thing about us all Vitran people we are one big huge family and it has been one of the worse mergers I have been thru in my 40 yrs so that is bad.Alot of us will still be in touch that is one thing for sure .Runaway don't rain on the parade we got the family of Vitran even though it is gone we all know what we were told when we merge and none of it happened.Just remember on Judgment Day the ones that did wrong has a alot better man to answer to and I pray they have some good answers that is God.One thing for sure us V drivers will keep on trucking but the V will not be gone from our hearts and families.
