That's all we have been told i tried to stay positive but working 18 hours a week with 12 years with VT and central drivers with 6 mths or less are working full time.....BULLSHIZ

ct drivers are pricks they hate us because where there we hate them because where there and management wants us gone!

The laid-off Vitran and Bath threads could almost be combined. But, really, did any of us have any doubts that this was going to happen. With the difference in the pay scale and the seniority we were bringing over it was almost pre-destined. They were always going to take care of their own first so that they could cut the slackers and not be forced to bring the pay scale up to our level.

Any of you still there need to pay heed to these threads and expect it to happen to you. If your able to get by on unemployment and want to bide your time, then ride this out. For those of you who can't, now is the time to really get serious about your job search.

There are other jobs out there and it is oblivious they will pay more then the 18 hours some will be given or being on call because of the color of the hat you wore.
 
Just my opinion, but We know how bad CT system is, Mananagement knows we know how bad it is, and they don't want us upper senior VT drivers causing trouble with there faithful CT drivers that just don't know any better. Yea, money has something to do with it, but there's more to it. Has to be. I've been an LTL driver for alsmost 8, 1/2 yrs. and I've never been treated with such disrespect by the TM in my life. Talks down to you like some young punk out of high school. Most miserable place I ever worked at. Just couldn't endure another weeak of misery. Glad I am out of there! Just a side note: last week I picked up at a VT customer (full trailer). VT picked up a full load, if not almost a full load everyday. Great account to. Customer told me they will soon be letting CT go, and look for another carrier. "JUST SAAYYIINN MAN!".
 
c.t. does'nt want you asking simple questions about anything, they just want you to walk around like a zombie. they'll reply with "at least you have a job" or "if you don't like it you can always leave". what kind of answers are that. i figure they're stalling on the 401 because they want most of the vitran employees to leave so they don't take any advantage of it. i never seen a 401 transfer ever take this long before. having a 401 will probably be a mark against you at c.t. and put you up on the list for layoff.
 
Pitt ohio in center valley( off rt309 just south of 78) is looking for drivers. Part time city guys and a linehaul driver. Part timers usually get more than you're getting now.
 
For the sake of all my friends that drove for VT. Get out of there asap!!! I talked to our senior sales rep at upsf, and with the huge failure of VT and ctii coming together, all other LTL outfits are coming in and "undercutting" ctii salesman qoutes. I know it sounds crazy( ctii will move the freight for a %98 discount) but he said its true, and i hope they all take all of ctii big national acts. Bcuz thats what ctii lives on. They dont do as much, or very little of small businesses. Hell i think they might have a handfull of liftgates, and the ones they do have they are older then dirt. Ctii is a joke of a company, it always was and always will be. Its so truely sad when VT drivers with 15plus yrs leave bcuz they get treated like the ******** kid at recess. When i worked there it was a stepping stone, that was it. I knew i would never make a career of it. And for those that take offence to this oh well. If you keep your head hanging low and keep complaining about how they r treating u, well either u dont really mind, or ur driving record sucks and thats the only outfit that would hire u. Spring is around the corner, and that is the bst time to get out. And with all other outfits stealing ctii customers, most will surley be hiring
 
Everything said above was the truth. Some of us new what Central was all about years ago. A s##3 hole bottom feeder whose owner was a snake. Out of my terminal I have one Vt driver above me and if their seniority was like any other trucking company I would be in the top 10. We are being overworked, 14 hrs and then dock work on Sat. For me the 401 money was my issue. Kept quiet while we merged, did what they asked, when comments were made derogatory towards me I reminded them I could be their father, and would discipline them accordingly. Everyone that was a Vitran driver, who got merged into Pjax, and finallly got them on our path, ( work rules, seniority, bids form before we merged) can't believe our company is gone. It is heartbreaking to see a terminal that did 700 to 900 inbound bills a day, with 40 drivers Record tonnage on outbound on a weekly basis ,half to three quarters of a million pounds most nights. 90% of all this freight is GONE. Saia, Pitt, Dayton Freight, Ups ftr, all put people to work in December. That is unheard of at this time of year. Once I get the 401 squared away I will be gone one way or another. Really trying to work an accident or unemployment out of Mattie as a "thank you note". Years of hard work to build a company who always treated their employees fair down the drain. I was really hoping that Central was going to look at the big picture, keep the accounts, and the men, and come back out as a powerhouse ltl carrier. Mattie you could have changed the industry and your image. Now everyone knows you are a snake.
 
My last day was Dec. 16th. Got my call for an exit interview on my way home tonight. Told her I was stuck in traffic and to call me back in 15 minutes when I get home. Never heard from her. The wife said to be honest with her...Bwwaaaaa, you got it!
 
Inside info ! confidential ! layoffs begin this Friday from a very reliable source 17 drivers need to go...

don't say i didn't tell you so ! all straight truck drivers gone and most trailer drivers gone total of 16 there are 8 left in including my self ..

it happened all straight truck drivers layed off and most of the trailer drivers gone 8 vitran people left!

the last post for me free at last free at last thank god almighty free at last.to all that i worked with at pjax and vitran good luck and god bless. the weight of the world has been lifted off these shoulders, and these shoulders have been busted up for a long time no more drama. on to bigger and better things. thanks to all who i worked with for 12yrs.
 
remember broken bones and kidney stones are my trade mark at the now defunct flying v.with a tear in my eye i say good bye but don't feel sorry for me. i've been down before and i'll rise once more cause of the things i believe. so world look out their is no doubt i'll be better now that i'm not at the land of ct. who wants a tissue not me. good luck and god bless you all
