FedEx Freight | Intermec....

Was told we are getting new bricks in Feb. that is supposed to resolve a lot of the problems we are having with the present ones. Time will tell. I'm sure that will even be delayed.

I am ready to dump the logbooks.... When is this going to happen if ever

I work In CMH and the last drivers meeting the bricks was a hot topic of failures. The SM said new ones where coming in Feb. that was going to eliminate 90% of the failure problems. Was also told they would have a faster load and response time. He said a test period was going to go before they start putting logs on them.

The Last word I receive was June at the earliest....I am with you. The less paper the better.

We will probably still have to do a paper log just like back when we started the handhelds for city. You had to then and still have to get the paper DR signed by the customer even though we had the handhelds. They spent how much $$$ on this technology only to still have a piece of paper signed by the customer. They sure went to an awful lot of expense just to have GPS technology to keep track of what everybody is doing. OD has had paperless logs for years, but FedEx cant figure out how to do it???

Fred, It might be time to regroup down there in the big house???

If the brick doesn't work just go. Make a list of task preformed give to your manager to put in. I did that for a week and suddenly the ten bricks that wouldn't work were rebooted and worked. I guess the manager got tired of doing my task arrive and depart times and ending my day so he fixed the bricks.
