I was wondering how everyone picks their vacation and when it is due?? I heard some guys use a calendar system where number 1 driver goes in and picks his two weeks prime time then go down list and go over again if you have 4 weeks. Some guys said at there barn they have to pick out 5-6 weeks they want then they let them know if you got it later.
 
Our center manager let's guys bid all of their and as many as they want at time of bidding. He said that there is no policy on how many weeks you can bid and it's a "gray area". I said ok. You can't argue it.
 
We submit our time at the same time on paper and no one knows who's bidding what. You usually end up with all your time being denied and the guy behind you ends up with the next best option.
 
they call just like bidding.two weeks max,days off given on first come first asked ,there is policy for vacation bidding,call hro,

Thats how we do ours.

Better than Express. They would let the top guy pick 5 weeks, plus 10 personal days. So, unless you had been there 31yrs,you might as well be a new hire.


Luckily, I was able to hold down the week of Christmas this year.
