Leighty is now an ops manager and the BM is a guy from PA named Chris Hollis. He walked the dock a few weeks ago and got an earful from everyone he talked too. No real changes other than the yard is brighter as stated and some of the interior dock lights that have been out for months have finally been replaced. Yard still doesn't get plowed or treated like it should when it snows and instead of plugging the doors with trailers when it does snow, they sit open and the snow and ice come right on in. Dock plates are all in horrible shape except for a select few on the HV end. I wish they'd get real racks for the load beams instead of leaning up against the door frames. YRC is ******** but at least there were designated racks for the decking beams. One of those things falls on your head, you'll be hurting! So many quick and easy things to fix yet it all seems to fall on deaf ears.

Update from sch we the yard employees and our drivers were issued neon yellow safety vests to ware in the yard at alltimes along with a new set of safety rules like enforcing a 10 mph rule for everyone in the yard and new designated places twalk for all employees.they should have done this before .no word on the lighting problems yet ......stay tunned

I would think that dock plates would be a number one priority. They can put a man out of work too quickly to not maintain them and that makes for a cheap investment. Even if you know there's a bad one or two it's hard to keep it in mind when you bend over to pull it up that you're at THAT dock. I had a former YRC employee tell me, "Hey, they are a **** company but at least they cleaned up the snow around the dock area". I guess it's a problem system wide.

At the terminals I have been Dock plates, and Dock doors are in bad shape and continue to cause problems leading to injuries... Terminals needs better lighting inside and out of the buildings. Very dark and I am really surprised there haven't been more accidents!!! If Safety is really a priority then Lighting in and out needs fixed, and ALL EMPLOYEE'S should have reflective vest and be wearing them at all times while on ABF property!!!

Fix dock plates, that's funny. Cheaper to put orange cones in front of them....As far as snow removal our mechanic & our ue driver plow & shovel our roofs off (no conflict of interest) They use no salt what so ever, guess that will change when someone ends up on comp.but probably not....

As long as I'm not shoveling that trailer roof off I don't care how it gets done and I'll bet that after the first man falls off that roof climbing up and shoveling will come to an end system wide.
