At our yard we're -16 degrees outside. But nobody plugged in any trucks over weekend. So needless to say, only half the truck didn't start this morning.
All runs were canceled due to weather and major screw up. Let's start the finger pointing? Who's job is it to plug in truck?

It amazes me when you walk to your assigned truck that's not in it's assigned spot. You see city moron getting out of it, you ask him are you going to fuel, they reply "it's not my job"

I hope somebody plugs my truck in and warns it up 30 min before I get there.
Wait a minute! It's national championship night. I don't work on these kind of nights.

Would be nice to have a block heater to even plug in. Guess they figure N. Indiana isn't cold enough to bother installing one.

Fixing to plug myself into an intravenous with 90 proof administered. Is cold here. No school tomorrow.

Where's this at(state)...... Suppose to be 17 tonight down here in the deep south.. That's freakin' cold... At least the wind is suppose to be calm to 5 mph....

Didnt know the city ran on the weekends

I think only 3 of our trucks fired this morning. Only half were plugged in because well we don't have extention cords and well there isn't anywhere to plug them in if we did. Friday night they put fuel treatment in the tanks but did not drive the trucks around to mix it or get that treated fuel into the system and up to the filters. I don't have a block heater so I had to get jumped off.

I realize that I'm just a dumb old city driver but here is my 2 cents.

The trucking industry employees the oldest children. It really don't matter the company OTR or LTL. It really isn't that hard to plug in a truck of fuel a truck. I get paid by the hour I can fuel a truck, wash windows and throw away my trash. NOTE: MY TRASH. I have never understood why a city driver paid by the hour wouldn't fuel a truck your paid by the hour....other than pure laziness and that goes for line driver also yeah I get it you don't get PAID to do it but it's still part of your job. Very rarely does anyone driver my 8100 race truck.

When I was a line driver i fueled my truck and kept it clean, if a city driver left trash in my truck i simply put it in a bag and turned it into a supervisor, this always went over really well. " why are you giving me a bag of trash?" my answer is simple " no trash goes in a trash can this was obviously important because they kept it and I am not going to throw away somebodies personal property" " I am not their mother, wife or boy friend therefore it is not my job to clean up after them if you say it's trash then you throw it away if you don't want this to happen again you need top speak with Joe Blow not my job"

It's just to easy to do the right thing clean up after yourself, fuel the truck you drive, wash the windows and plug the truck in. I'm prior service military go ahead and trash a truck you'll be pushing extra duty I learned the hard way just like every other private.

I really doubt if the company if they put out policies to cover all of the above problems it would solve anything because their is no one there to enforce them.

We got electric boxes just before this winter, even with the trucks plugged in some still won't start, mgmt spent all that money to run electricity and we still have to call out road service to change batteries and jump equipment..LOL! Not to mention half of our guys are in such an all fired hurry to get to the house they won't plug the truck in, then in the AM when its 6 degrees and their new Cascadia won't start, the tears start a flowin...LOL!!

My duramax pickup didn't start this morning. Batteries are new. It just wouldn't start. I didn't get the optional plugin because I live in Georgia and it don't get that cold here.http://www.breakingnews.com/item/2014/01/07/photo-frozen-fountain-in-atlanta-via-wcl_shawn/
