ABF | ABF TM disrespects Boyscouts of America and Teamster saves face for ABF

I must agree with my compadres. Stoney you have to be management. You are to quick to defend a TM. If you call yourself a Teamster, I'm ashamed to call myself one!

I'm no abf driver
I'm not blaming the tm
THANKS to the fellow member for touring the scouts
dosen't matter why the tm was not there
I do know that there are some reasons that I would walk out on ANYTHING,......
maybe it was something like that

I'm just sayin'
I just like to know the whole story before passing judgment.

Hmm maybe cause I work for ABF. That's why I'm here.

I'm with you on thanks to the fellow member who stood up to the task, he/she deserves to be congratulated.

On the other matter, I would never just walk out without covering what I had going on. NEVER! I have noticed in my years that I am not in the majority there, but I see such a failure as irresponsible. Keep in mind that this shows our Boy Scouts that such behavior is OK and yet we wonder why today's generations show a lack of responsibility. What would that TM say to a no call/no show driver?

No specifics? He gave specifics, TM arranged tour and bailed. If you are so worried about defending this guy why don't you track him down and ask him? You could post your findings on here for us. Maybe you could advise him that he is getting ripped on Truckingboards.com and that he should come and clear his impeccable name.

I ain't worried about anybody, I just need a reason to rip somebody. I'm not going to rip on someone just because of their title. Talk about childish. And why should I do have to find out for you? I'm not the one making the claims here. You claim something, then you have to back it up. Maybe you guys need to grow the FLIP up. And no, the OP never gave specifics on why he backed out.

WOW! All I was trying to do is give credit and everyone is in a defense mode or something. In my view, he set it up and gave them the offer and should have been there less a death in the family.

Thats a lie! If so you post wouldn't have included what I highlighted here.

Our TM set up a meeting for the Boy scouts of America to take a tour of our terminal at 140 and bailed out a half hour before they were to arrive. I found this very offensive and showed no class on his part. So a teamster stepped up to the plate and gave them a tour and explained how great it is to be part of the teamsters and how working hard can get you places.

Thank GOD a Teamster can show integrity.

PROUD TO BE A TEAMSTER

So don't give me that BS. You wanted to demean some one else just to prop up a Teamster even higher. Now you obviously don't know WHY he backed out. But you call it offensive and no class. And I could think of many many things to back out for that is legit, doesn't have to be just a death. Come on we're talking about the Boy Scouts here. Its not like it was the Pope.

This looks like a good reason why one shouldn't drink and post on the internet.

TM's always stick together, right Stoney? you must be a dispatcher or a manager, oh by the way, the TM just set up a new tour with the boys and girls club for Saturday. opps were closed on the weekends, Next on his list make a wish foundation!

What makes you think I"m management? Why is it when a Fellow Teamster disagree with the union line, or by god defend a company man, their labeled management? Sorry, I just believe in ripping someone till I have all the facts first.

So he scheduled a weekend. So what? He's got a key to the place. Maybe that was the only good time for the Boys and Girls Club? You ever think of that?

Wow original!!! No wonder the public has such a poor opinion of Unions. Least I know I cornered you hateful clowns. When you can't back up anything, just go to insults. Just like little kids!

Its a good thing the Boy Scouts are not reading these posts. They would see how juvenile you guys are.:biglaugh:

WAAAA, TM bad! WAAAA............:hissyfit:

I was going to....but I'll just let you go on your tirade.

Trust me, the Teamsters have already shamed themselves enough. I'm proud I'm no Teamster/Union Zombie.

I hope the Teamster talked about how being Union for ABF has got us the best pay and benefit's. Most Teamster's can retire from trucking, great medical benefits, good pay. If your in management it's fund your own retirement and hope you save enough that you don't out live your money.

Stoney,
Calm down...it's OK. Our TM will survive this little ordeal. It sounds like your arguing to yourself about this whole thing. Let it go it will be OK. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way offering an opinion here, that's all it was. I just thought that being in the position he is, he should have shown more respect. You don't know this guy and I think if you did you might feel the same way. It don't matter what the reason, maybe he had to go buy a new tent at wal-mart who knows...who cares, only you are looking out for him that is why you are thought of as management. Just let it go or give him a call and ask him, I'm sure all TMs talk from time to time he would love to hear from you I'm sure.

DB,
Yes the teamster that gave the tour to the kids talked about all of the things you said, it was a proud day for the teamsters.

Cheers!

I'm fine. I just get sick and tired of the hate company management rhetoric, when not needed. It's childish. You call it disrespectful for him backing out, but offer no reason on why he backed out. What if it were a family problem? Is it disrespectful then?

All I'm saying is let's get the full story before we rip a guy. That so wrong?

Then we have ABFer and another ABF TB member going along with your bashing, just because he's a TM. My goodness, I thought we were adults here.

And yes, you offered your opinion, and all I did was challenge your opinion, and then I got called a ****, and management.
And people wonder why I have a problem with unions? Cause if I dare to disagree with most of the rhetoric I hear, I'm automatically labeled anti-union, or a **** or I'm just lying and I'm really management.

And again, Reread my posts. I'm not defending him, or looking out for him, just wanted more info before I rip a guy I don't know. Also why should I call him! You made the claim, you make the call. Back up your own opinion.

Stoney, If you are not proud to be a teamster and don't seem to like them, why don't you just go somewhere else and work?

It's still a job, a good job. A good job because of the Teamsters doing their job. That's the good part.

Not happy bout the politics or ideology they have been adopting. Job killing policies IMO.

But I'm going to quit just because I'm not completely happy with the Teamsters, doesn't mean I should quit.

Why do you think that person is a Teamster's or even works for ABF,they could be internet lurker or Truckingboard trolls.

Ya, I guess a requirement to be a Teamster or work for ABF, is that I have to hate company men just because their company. Don't need a reason I guess.
