Yellow | There is no Plan B

Because there is'nt. Are you going to revote this that was already turned down? There won't be a revote. Do you think they will come back with a little more or a lot more to offer. They already said this is what the banks want. 100 mill in savings. So your not getting anymore. The bank just walks away we default and doors close. Bankrupt. There's your plan b

Sadly that is the most LIKELY outcome. But I agree that if you don't trust your union, then why do you belong?

I think the whole problem revolves around the take it or leave it stance from the company. How long have they known what they needed to satisfy the lenders?Long before this proposal was made I'm sure!

The take it or leave it attitude is on the part of the lenders. However, the incredible naïveté of Welch to believe that this would pass is disturbing. Why did he think that ANY non CDL Teamsters would vote to ratify? Give some thought to this. Those non CDL Teamsters comprise about 30% of our work force. That's over 7,000. Which IMO makes the vote much closer. Cynical and disgusted would best describe all most EVERY employee. I don't pretend to know the answers. But there does not appear to be an easy way out of our situation.
Just hoping for some REAL dialogue between ALL affected stakeholders.

And the 7,000 that didn't vote? Did they take the company's statement to heart that if you are going to vote NO don't bother to vote?

Possibly. But the no vote was pretty determined. More likely they were split, too.

Albag, I did not know how many non cdl people their were. I was thinking when I read the proposal a few weeks ago, that everyone of them would vote no. Now I can see why the big % of no voters, WOW, 7000 of them. It almost makes you think Mister W is stupid,( which I do not think he is). Or the compnay wanted this to fail anyway. Was there a Plan B, ?

That's why Chicago and Dallas were so lopsided. Big breakbulks with many non CDL Teamsters. Both dockmen and clericals.

we have all worked 1 day after the vote yet we are asking if and when a plan b will be discussed. The fact is why should anyone of us wait around and hope that the morons who did this in the first place will come out with a decent plan b. sorry folks i think its all BS.

I agree, who knows what was said behind closed doors. The company is in dire straights. The IBT may know more about the financial health of the company than what they are letting on. No one wants to be responsible for 32,000 people hitting the unemployment lines. I don't believe in conspiracy theory, but maybe they already knew what the outcome of this vote was going to be.The blame would fall squarely on the shoulders of the membership. Welch, along with Hoffa, blamed Zollars for this debacle. They both wash their hands of the situation and walk away.

When YRC closes the doors it will be a better beginning for us all? Ok I'll bite tell me how? How long do you abf will last after that? As the stand alone Union Co.

reading the posts on here I think the majority 12000 plus voters really thought there was going to be something after this. There is'nt. Atleast not since yesterday at 4pm. KK who is a friend of mine thinks there is. He has said YRC won't go down. He has even said that quoting Welsh when he said bankruptcy is not an option as the reason. But what Welsh meant was that a restructuring bankruptcy is not an option. Plain and simple brothers and sisters is that in that type of bankruptcy the judge could basically gut the contract. He/she could cut our pay make us pay for our insurance and more.

I've heard alot of conversations this weekend. Not on here. And my take is that Local leadership failed to convey how serious this was. They from what I've heard is that they think too that there will be something else now. My local pretty much laid it on the line. And a majority of our guys voted it down. Not by as big a margin as some but they voted it down.

My biggest reason for voting yes. I trust my local. My life is in their hands. And has been for the last 25 years. But I did'nt want to find a job this late in the game. And now after the votes have been counting my brothers and sisters have asked what's next. There is no plan B. There never was. Will there be? That I don't know. But I do know we just voted ourselves out of a job. Deregulation was the beginning.

I don't believe this was the time to fight. And you can call me what ever you want. I'm like a duck it rolls off my back.
Why would anyone want to lose this job and go into the job marketplace. When we have a job that pays over 20 bucks an hour and paid Insurance????????????? I spoke to a woman the other day and she said I can get you a job with paid insurance no problem. Guess what the deductible was? $2900.
If we don't evolve we die.
TDU wants the UPS Freight guys to turn their contract down. Stupid. They were bought for a billion and could'nt sell it for half that.
Shall we presume that you are holding insider information about this? Such information would only be available to someone who works high up in the KCGO.

I didnt vote no because i had premonitions that there is or was a plan B.This was a five year contract.A long time for a contract if you ask me.President Hoffa said NO.I agree with our President. The company asked for this current mou til 2015 so the company got it.Along the way i guess bonuses were allowed for top executives
