I am in a FB group where Tyson Johnson's cell # was posted, and I decided to call him this morning just for rumor control. He was pretty put out that his personal number was posted online (and I didn't know it was personal or I wouldn't have called) Nevertheless, he was gracious enough ( albeit a little cranky) to speak with me, a YRC wife, for almost 20 minutes. Here's what I took away:

1) There will not be another vote on this issue. It cost a couple hundred thousand dollars to hold the election. The people have spoken. Don't call asking for a re-vote.
2) As of now, there is no Plan B
3) IBT hired their own expert to go through YRC's books, and they said that without this restructuring, bankruptcy is inevitable.
4) He sees bankruptcy as a strong possibility if not probability.
5) He did not negotiate with YRC because the local unions did not allow him to. They voted not to negotiate.

Now there is nothing wrong with standing on principles, my husband voted no, but this ship appears to be going down a la Hostess.

After this dinosaur draws its last breath, we are dunzo with the freight industry.

One last thing from me, not TJ- I didn't know but the stock we all got in 2011 was able to be transferred as of Oct 1 2013. Get rid of it as it is likely to ne worthless. Last week it was up to alomst $20 a share and you could have cleared $800. We sold today for $590 and had it put in an interest bearing account. Call Teamsters 401k, they are in charge of it now.

TJ also told us at ABF that the company would be bankrupt by year's end if we did not vote ourselves a 15% wage cut three or four years ago. We rejected the cut and we're still here.

The more I stew on this the more I get pissed about this union. When did the expert tell them this and why didn't the IBT pass this info on to the members. This was our vote we should know what's on the table, they held information that could have changed the outcome.
UNBELIEVABLE! !

Thank you for that rational post!
I would add, in reference to item #4, we should wait and see what Mr. Welch comes up with, in light of, this Memo www.truckingboards.com/forum/yrc-freight/102436-follow-up-ratification-vote-memo.html

Sounds like to me poor communication...no one bothered to explain all the obscure provisions of the proposal which sounded like stuff the company had thought out for a down-the-road "gotcha." Which it probably was. Who knows, maybe they'll pull another rabbit out of the ass save like they did on New Year's Eve a few years ago.

thinking this is a BS posting, as I just checked Facebook and he is NOT on there ?? and if so WHAT is his phone # ??? and phone # are NOT posted on Facebook neither ??? not even your real email is on there ??? but you are kinda funny !!!

If you are going to make up a load of crap at least make it somewhat believable

Some numbers are posted on facebook. Not eveyones but some. I believe it is your choice to list it. Why anyone would is beyond me.

That's not me on No More Concessions, that's someone who screenshot this and reposted. You can play detective and scroll back through my posts and figure out that my husband works at the KC terminal, but he doesn't and has never wanted me to publicly post stuff about his workplace. He's a private guy. So anyway, sorry, can't identify myself but even if I did some of y'all would still say I was full of crap.

Oh, and let me clarify one more time. Tyson Johnson is not on Facebook. (He had some choice words about "that social media") Someone on No More Concessions posted his cell #. I called it. It's that simple. I don't know what is so unbelievable about what I posted.
