Yellow | Wednesday Meeting Between YRCW And IBT!

Albag I'm not sure, but getting the white paper contract back in 710 and the others because we didn't vote right would be one,"Pat said he would sign his white paper over if it was going to get in the way of YRC surviving 2009 some one can post the video" ) vote until you get it right would be another one, telling us at 710 I'm not sure or I didn't get the memo, the IBT didn't notify 710, would be another, starting a two tier pension at 710, instead of just letting us have the 25% in our own 401k that way we would have that money if they went out would be another one, or how about just telling us the truth,or even getting paid for all the 29.3 that we lost during the new business agent change in 2010, I think that a election is the only thing that will clear the air, I will always support the winner no matter what. I think your question was how do we trust the local we are in and the IBT?

t. To simply revote will not only fail but will result in even MORE mistrust from the rank and file.
I would like to ask a question of all the YRCW Teamsters. What will it take to restore your confidence in the Teamsters Union? It just seems to me that there is as much mistrust of the IBT as there is of YRCW.[/QUOTE]

I'm a 31 year Teamster. To be honest with you I don't think I can ever trust the Teamsters again certainly not anyone in this administration. They've forgot their role as our leaders. It's all about the money with them. They absolutely do not have our best interest at heart. This administration has been in bed with with YRC since the last contract negotiations and that's not going to change.
I too hope they come to an agreement soon but I'm not, and hope no one else is holding their breath for anything other then the same old stuff. Sorry for the pessimistic views. Thanks for asking.

Negotiations are done from power. In the old days, the IBT had power, there were multiple companies for Teamsters to go to if one company didn't cooperate. The economy was good, 1st day casuals made full-scale.

Different situation now. One corporation left to negotiate with, and it's beyond B R O K E. Almost down to take it or leave it when it comes to negotiations. Not quite, but apparently closer than we know, or the union would've been more involved. Now, they have to be involved, because it hurts Their survival......

OK, my thoughts on this. If YRC/Welch comes back for a re-vote, he will need the letter of intent, signed from the lender(s) involved. He will also have to modify their "original" documents regarding our Health & Welfare,(NO Modifications from our current formula) vacation pay formulation (I'm all with staying @ 1/52, not the 1/58 as proposed), clarify the language regarding their absenteeism policy (I don't see a problem with our current plan, but then they know who will work and whom don't want to. Those that want to "get paid" but screw off and take more then their "allotted time" may just need to move on to greener pastures. The company on their perspective has their hands tied by the grievance procedure that keeps getting these malingering knuckleheads their jobs backs. Maybe it's time to review the formula for saving these "individuals") I have never had a problem getting time off, even when I didn't have any "earned" time available, just because of my attendance record. IMO, some of the "individuals" don't deserve to have this job, and if they are forced out the door, the shock of the real world will bulldoze them. Mr Welch could "sweeten" the pot by dropping his salary to, oh say, $100,000 a year, take the same benefits package that we have, you know, got to work 3 days to get your benefits paid, no more company car, or car allowance, a small weekly "per diem" rate so that he can entertain perspective clients, and the same should be translated down through the executive board, and the regionals. There isn't a one of them worth a 6 or 7 digit salary while this company is suffering. Either everyone is on board or just forget about it. We will all sacrifice equally until we can turn this company around. If Mr Welch provides this, I would be very serious on casting a YES vote for him, but it has to be in writing, signed sealed, and I believe the "Brotherhood" would "DELIVER"!

I just heard from a trusted source that a fax memo was sent from the IBT earlier this evening to all Freight Locals. This memo says that there is a meeting scheduled on Wednesday, January 15 between YRCW and the IBT. It does not mention what this meeting is about, but it does say that the IBT will NOT entertain a re-vote of the current MOU! I suggest you contact your Locals asap and ask them to give members at your barn a copy of the memo. If anybody knows anything about this memo please let us know here on truckingboards. This info came from a fellow Teamster member who had phone conversations with the National Freight Director two days in a row. Let's hope this meeting is productive!

agree, we need to STOP this REVOTE BS, like ABF & UPS & New penn did last time , we need to vote ONE TIME and thats it !!!! or gee lets have a revote on Obama for pres. ?????

i don't know where all the lazy bastards are that you teamster brothers keep mentioning. the deadbeats at my terminal are management. we have one driver that can only cover 30 miles in 2-3 hours with no stops on an interstate, just one.
there are already mechanisms in the contract to deal with non-work and absenteeism.
when you demand a hangman's noose, understand that it will fit your neck also when you fail to "kiss a@!."

but, there was no time for this to happen, one vote or its over, R E M E M B E R? so demand a fair compromise this time not their alternate version of the truth.

YRCW will meet with the IBT and come up with an agreement just a little better than what YRCW offered and the membership will vote to accept it. The company offered a really bad proposal and the union wanted nothing to do with it and decided not to get involved with it and let it come up for a vote. The IBT had nothing to lose if was accepted or rejected. They could say "We didn`t endorse it" and wouldn`t get blamed for it. Now they can come in and negotiate an agreement just a little better than YRCW`s offer and come out looking like heroes. This happens all the time in negotiations where the companies offer nothing and then come back with another lousy proposal, just not as bad as the first one and it gets accepted. The only thing that YRCW will lose is it`s credibility which I don`t think they have much left anyway.
After reading some of the posts on truckingboards, I`m glad the teamsters of old had a backbone unlike some of the teamsters today, stood strong, and fought for the wages benefits and pension(which is slowly fading away) or YRCW`s employees would be working for minimum wage today.

Come down to Houston you will find some of the lazy bastards you are looking for. About 1/3 of the work force only go to gossip with their girlfriends. Funny thing happened last 2 days most of those girls act like they want to work now had outbound breakouts done by 11 pm over 600 bills. Scared now to little too late should have been working like men all the time.

If we could have a re-vote for Obama as president - I think that would be supported by everyone.... have you seen his job rating?

Gotta have something to revote on, whether your talking a President or a MOU. No sense revoting the S.O.S.

That blast fax had nothing to do with a meeting between IBT and YRC.... It simply said the requests coming from terminal managers to bargaining unit to tell us to call IBT for a revote was not the correct way to open up dialogue. And that there will BE NO RE VOTE!!!!!! Got it guys and gals? NO RE VOTE.

Old news story that was debunked. He was never charged with anything. Otherwise provide documentation.

I can't wait to see you ******s standing in the soup line ******* complaining

I can see that you will have a sparkling reputation. Look at the voting results. Most of the no votes are from Locals representing break bulks. Big surprise. Tell our dock and office no raises. Raises for all or none. :regretful::regretful:
