ABF | Jimmy Hoffa's Vision: The Rise And Fall Of The Teamsters NMFA!

What a great piece of NMFA history! Thanks for posting it. Oh for the days when we kept "Full Scale" on wages unless 75% agreed to concessions! Those days are long gone but so are thousands of Carriers earning money. Thanks again.

Today is the 50 th anniversary of the ratification of the NMFA in 1964. I'll wear my T-shirt that I had made up when ABF ratified our contract and split up the NMFA. It reads : "R.I.P. NMFA 1964 to 2013. Done In By The Son Of The Man That Created You. Sadly Missed" I won't wear it with pride. I'll wear it to remember all the hours and hard work my father and my uncles put in as stewards and Teamsters in the '50's and '60's to make and enforce the NMFA. All for naught. This son respects the work of his father.

Maybe canaryinthemine will dig out one of his early pay checks for us...

When I started working in 1966 for Valley Motor Lines which became ETMF then ABF I was making $3.21-1/2 an hour. Yes we got a 1/2 cent an hour back then. This was in the Los Angeles. I know San Francisco got a little higher rate.

What about linehaul?
Linehaul is overpaid for their drops and hooks. I want my vacation back and I'll gladly drop to 20 minutes pay to switch out a set in exchange for it.
